Hubby and I were watching Worlds Worst Tenants the other night.
The team shows up to handle a delinquent renter when an elderly woman comes out and says she smells gas in her unit. One of the guys goes in and starts inspecting all of her gas appliances and discover her pilot light has gone out but the gas is still on; meanwhile the other members of the crew start knocking on doors to get people out of the other units.
One guy opens the door and he's acting kind of nervous and they just tell him they want to check out the appliances, no big deal. He's getting more and more anxious the closer they get to his bathroom/bedroom.
As soon as the one guy reaches for the door, the tenant tackles him to the ground. Come to find out, he had wires running through the vents to the other units - to the side of him and to the back of him - and was watching various women in various rooms of their apartments. I think two were set up to film the bedrooms and another was set up to view the shower and toilet. He had hundreds, if not thousands of discs labeled with dates and sequences. He claimed he was making a "documentary".
He was charged, had to pay fines, got some jail time and had to register as a sex offender when released.
So, here's my question for you:
Say you were one of these women being filmed without your knowledge and/or consent, would YOU want to know this happened? Or, do you think ignorance is bliss in this situation?
