Over the years I have become the always-available online chicka, but I didn't enjoy to be on the phone or even to meet personally, having to adept to folks, while in front of the screen I can just decide what I wanna do, how I want to interact, and all that stuff... :D (I know, it isn't such a nice behavior and manners, but in return I pour all my heart into being there for anyone who needs my company... ~lays ears smilin blushy)

I like to speak on the phone, email, and send letters to people.
I particularly like to send and receive handwritten letters. I think it is a lost past time for the most part, but I love seeing handwriting, choice of stationary, color of ink, etc. It's nice to have a hard copy of something personal that someone sent to you.

Nothing beats actually being in person with my old friends! In our small area, we often run into each other at a gas station or something and will chat for hours. Since we're so small here, it's really common to see several friends/family at one place. I like that though. I also enjoy walking or playing tennis with some of my oldest girlfriends. When it isn't freezing I beg them to walk the track with me and often I succeed and lure them down there. Lol. I always prefer something like that over phone or internet talking, but it's the only way I can get in touch with some of my friends

In person, texting, facebook. I hate talking on the phone unless the conversation flows, otherwise I'd rather people just text then there isn't that awkward silence that no one wants to break to hang up.

The net or the phone.

I text a lot. It's easy to answer when I have time and fast. I do love a letter though.

texting and anything online
03/06/2012
I always have an instant messenger open when I'm online, so that's the easiest way for me.
03/06/2012
Although I hate it, it's easier for me to keep in touch via text messages and Facebook. I'd rather see someone in person than them calling. I HATE talking on the phone.
03/06/2012
in person is the best but facebook is really great way of keeping in touch with people when they move or whatnot.
03/06/2012
If I can't see them in person then I try to call every once in a while, facebook overwhelms me, and emails and mail don't feel like keeping in touch at all.
03/06/2012
We hang out, text, and IM mostly.
03/06/2012
Phone calls texts and facebook.
03/06/2012
It depends on the person...
03/06/2012
I despise text messages. It drives me nuts for someone to try to type an entire conversation to me. PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL. I prefer to see who I'm talking to. I pay attention better that way. I'm also an extremely sarcastic person, and I think people take it the wrong way most of the time when I write. But, such is life, I use all methods of communication at one time or another.
03/06/2012
I hate talking on the phone. I think I prefer IM, in person, and text- in that order.
03/06/2012
preferably in person, on phone most of the time.
03/06/2012
I prefer anything written. I'm sort of awkward when it comes to actually talking to someone.
04/05/2012
It's gotten to the point where I barely ever speak to actual people.. so much text messaging and emailing. I'd much rather talk on the phone or in person but....

Unless I'm talking to people face to face it just feels too impersonal.
04/06/2012
I prefer to email to set something up in person, especially if it is a group of friends I want to see. Phone calls take too much back and forth, but emails can straighten it all out in a flash.
04/06/2012
prefer to stay in touch in person
04/06/2012
Preferably in person so I can see their body language as well. Though if that's not an option, phone calls, texting and IM'ing, in that order.
04/06/2012
I like to be in person but when I cant I use what I can
07/11/2012
I like the phone, I like to hear their voice
07/11/2012
Anything but social media
09/10/2012
In person or via text, spend all day at work on the phone, not what I want to do all night too.

In person, though I'll take texting and calls if that's the option available
09/10/2012
All of the above, really. It's easier to reach some people via phone and other just physically hanging out. =]

I use texting and if you lose my number and I lose yours wellllll I guess thats the end.
09/11/2012
Depends...email or chat mostly, phone occasionally. IN person with close friends.
09/11/2012
I like to see people in person but now a days we are all soo busy
09/11/2012
Texting is my first choice. Next is fb or email. I loathe speaking on the phone. Meeting face to face is pretty uncomfortable for me too. I have been told it's because I am an Empath- if you believe in things beyond the norm. I am gullible as hell, don't know why I still get fooled.
So yeah, I am reclusive.
So yeah, I am reclusive.

I am awful at keeping in touch. Communicate with family by phone, e-mail for most everyone else. The fact I can often ignore e-mail doesn't help me keep contact with people, though.
09/11/2012
texting, phone calls, or snail mail letters
09/11/2012
I love to text. I've never enjoyed talking on the phone.
09/11/2012
I love snail mail
09/11/2012
Letters/postcards, text messages, Skype or AIM, pretty much anything over having to talk on the phone. I hate talking on the phone.
09/12/2012
depends on the person. But normally, phone or in person

09/16/2012
I like texting...
09/16/2012
Face to face or texting mainly. Phone calls when I have the time.
10/17/2012
Text messages or phone calls but I prefer texts
10/17/2012
Face to Face, Text Message, Chat, Video Chat, Email.
10/17/2012
E-mail and IM mostly because the majority of my friends live quite a ways away, so that's the best (sometimes only) way we can keep in touch.
11/09/2012
Face to face when possible, if not then a phone call.
11/09/2012
I like face to face, otherwise I will probably lose contact with that person
11/23/2012
In person, but this isn't really an option when your friends live hundreds of miles away. When it's not an option, I usually go for texts/emails.
11/23/2012
Personal
11/26/2012
I perfer personal. Second choice would be texting.
11/27/2012
i like to stay in touch personally but thats not always possible so internet and text works when it is not possible
11/27/2012
any communication other than personal takes so much away from what's being communicated.
11/27/2012
I prefer online talking, i can open up easier
11/27/2012
i like to talk personally or text message
11/27/2012
I like to talk personally
11/27/2012
It's all email, text message, chat, or in-person in my friend group. No one I know listens to phone messages anymore. You'll get a text back asking "what's up" instead.
11/27/2012
In person is my favorite
11/27/2012
in person, but you are right about the freedom of online. you can be yourself without judgement...and you get the chance to plot out the perfect responses. there is great advantage to online...but you lose all other sensations of actual contact; smell, sight, hearing...these are the most powerful things and create more depth in memory. for instance, you have no idea what we all look like, or what we are wearing, where we live, who we are, other than what little we tell you. real friends are better kept in the real world. if you change your real world friends into mostly online friends, the friendship will suffer for it. i've experienced it...and a once great friendship is flagging. excuse me, i have to email someone an invitation for coffee.
11/28/2012
Online mostly. I avoid my phone haha
11/28/2012
Face to face or texting.

I think all of these tools can be useful. Depends on the person and the situation.
During a workday, I won't respond to anything non-work related except for text or emails (and don't expect a quick response). But on the weekend, I love long phone conversations. FB and twitter are good for keeping up with casual acquaintances, and for getting news across to lots of people quickly and easily. For my best friends, nothing beats face to face. I haven't used Skype much, but I'm sure it has its use, too.
I'm the opposite of "always available". I'm available when - and only when - it suits me. I know a lot of folks will consider that selfish; I consider it practical. Nobody actually multitasks well and I like to give my full attention to whatever it is I'm doing. The upside for my friends is that they never have to deal with the annoyance of me checking my text or emails when I'm with them. I shut off my phone whenever I'm with someone I care about. I only wish I was better about remembering to switch it back ON!

I use most of them. I prefer phone/text messages but I will email people. I don't have a lot of people's addresses, so snail mail is kinda impossible.
02/09/2013
In person, phone or texting.
02/09/2013
Since my partner moved away, we've been keeping in touch via Skype.
02/09/2013
I skype chat with people pretty much constantly.
02/09/2013
In person ,or texting and IMs.
02/09/2013
I prefer using email to keep in touch with friends who have been flung to the far winds.
