#AskEden - How to post to Forums??

Contributor: MamaDivine MamaDivine
I was just thinking, from another thread that was posted...How do you know WHERE to post?

I have this thing where, I am afraid to post my thoughts/discussions etc, in another "less visited" area of the forums because I Know that not many folks go there, or if I have posted in that specific subtopic before, it doesn't get answered for days, weeks or at all.

But If I post it here, in social (or a more commonly visited area) then I get told that I need to be more careful where I am posting and that its not where it should be. Maybe my discussions would be best suited in three different subtopics, but where do I post it?

How do you decide where things should be posted AND do you agree that its hard to post in a less visited area because you know it won't be seen or answered for a while or at all?

I have no problems posting my threads in the proper places, even if the forums are visited less. After all, they are the PROPER places and I'd much rather get no or few answers doing the right thing than many doing the wrong thing (especially when some of those may be pointing out that I'm in the wrong place). Sure, I'd like answers but I'm not going to ignore forum topics for the sake of "popularity" or whatever you'd call it. And usually, I'll get at least one that'll be helpful so it's not so bad. Besides, there are tons of people like me who don't even visit individual forums (or who don't do it mainly). I pay attention to all the new threads and recently commented on ones so I see threads in every category. I know there other people like me so chances are that a thread will get at least one answer if it's not complete crap/spam/etc.

I post in the proper area when there is one, otherwise I post social. I go through the forums with the most recent and then break it down once I have seen the day's postings. Most people probably use the default, recently posted so they will see the posts and if it interests them will probably read and answer otherwise they will go to another posting that does interest them. Just my thoughts based on how I navigate the forums.

I start out by looking at the threads that were started since the last time I was on - just click next to the word "Started" on the bar directly above the first post on the forum and it'll put them in order and then I switch to "Last Update".

That's the same way I do it too.

True, I'm on the forums every day, even if I don't post.

Please make sure you post in the sub-category that fits your thread the most. I really don't think people check out each one, one by one. They look at the newest/most active threads. When you post in the proper place, it will show up in the newest/most active threads.

Thanks Stormy and JR, I appreciate the input. I'll try that and see if that helps. I love hearing from you all, but when I keep getting messages because Im posting in the wrong areas, Well, I would much rather it be communication on a more positive level LOL! Love ya's!
