How often do you get your eyes checked?

I was just wondering how often people get their eyes checked, especially those who wear glasses or contacts.

It's been almost a year since I got glasses for the first time, and I was told at the time to come back in 2 years. I've been feeling like my glasses aren't as effective now as the were a year ago, and I'm trying to decide if I should go back sooner to see if my prescription has changed. I think my insurance will cover it as long as it's been at least one full year since I was there.

So, how often do you get your eyes checked? Do you think a year is too soon for me to go back?

Only once in my entire life! It was about last Summer, I think. Got contacts, couldn't even wear them because the pain was so severe! Never tried again. I'm just far sighted a bit or something, but have big-time night-blindess which frustrates the far outta me!

I've worn glasses since I was about 6, and contacts since 13 so I have to get my eyes checked yearly.

I got my eyes checked for the first time last summer (and got glasses). I'll probably try to go every 2 years like they recommended.

I get mine checked about once a year. I wear both glasses and contacts.

I get checked once a year. Even though I don't have insurance and it's sort of expensive, it's important to me that I don't have any budding vision problems like glaucoma, etc.

Once a year, on the calendar. The older you get, the more bad things can be corrected before they get too far.

I got mine checked in 2011, so it's...been a while.

Between 9 months to a year. I wear contacts and my prescription keeps changing a little bit, so whenever I feel like I'm not seeing as well I go get them checked.
