How much are you willing to spend on a toy?

I am a poor, broke hoe. I cannot afford to spend money on toys. *Frowny face* Therefore, if I see something I want, I have to save up GC's, or ... more
Exactly the same as me. I haven't paid full price for a toy since my first, and shortly after I became a reviewer.

I wouldn't spend more than $30 or $40 out of pocket.

Don't think you will be disappointed with the Pure Wand. This toy is so worth it and it will last forever!!

I'll still drink box wine but when I really want the good stuff, I know I'm not going to get it for $10

All the ones I buy are under 200, althought some are clost to it.

I splurge sometimes. I have no kids, had a husband oversees and a good job. I have my house the way we wanted it to. So it was beer or toys. I took some toys. Now my toy buying has slowed down to. I have alot of good ones I like. Lube is whats expensive. Usally Ile go through 2 bottles a week sometimes less sometimes more.

I'm not honestly sure what my limit would be if I was paying with my own moula.. I'm a splurger. I get my heart set on something, & I won't let up until I have it. If I HAD money to spend on toys, I don't think I'd give myself a limit. It wouldn't be an actual price limit, so much as a need-limit. How much do I REALLY need this? Do I have 10 other similar toys? That sort of thing.

We're with both of you. Alan got dumped off unemployment and my income isn't enough, so $50 is "expensive" for us.

Here's a question for y'all, in the same vein as the original...

If you wouldn't spend what a toy costs to have it, can you give it a better than 3 star review? I mean... if it's that good, better than average, 5 stars certainly, it had better be worth buying, right? And if it's not... is it that good?

Thoughts?

I've thought about this, too. If it's mediocre in performance or design, the price should reflect this. Sadly, price isn't always an indicator of quality. In my opinion, prices that are "above average" should only be for toys that deliver in an "above average" way. I wouldn't give a product a higher rating just because it was pricier and, supposedly, "better" in quality.

Anyways, if a product is "just okay" and pricier than most, I'd probably give it a lower rating than a toy that's "just okay" and cheap. At the very least, I'd mention my disappointment. After all, what's that extra money going toward if it's not going toward getting a better (in quality/make) product?

I'm a big fan of positioning equipment, so when I get lots more moohlah some serious spending on sex furniture is in order. But for now I'm poor, so it really depends on how much I want it. I've paid about 300 before, but it probably won't happen again for a vibe or dildo . For how much money I actually have... I tend to buy on the pricer side of things. My fave is the little chroma which is sorta pricey but so worth it!

Usually $100 of a little more, but it depends on how many gift cards and commissions I have saved up :-P

Agreed and this is only if I had extra money. It's hard to justify that luxury vibe or that Eleven when you have a toddler, and your man pays all the bills. I am not saying they may not be worth it, but unless I win the lottery, get a decent job, or finish 100 reviews for EF and they give one to me, I will not spend much on a toy.

I payed up to 200+ for a single item before. Its built to last and its fun. I had a great job and a bank account full of money, why not. It will last if taken care of properly.

I wouldn't do it if I had mouths to feed and I was jobless and barely scraping for cash (not judging anyone who has)

About $75. If it is anymore, the toy has to be really special.

Unless its something I'm dieing for I can't see myself spending much more than 100. If I knew for sure I was going to love what I was getting then yes, I would spend more, but there's no way to know if you're going to love it until you've bought and used it...and then there's no going back.

If I had unlimited funds, I could spend a LOT! I seriously would like to try one of everything! But, alas, my pocketbook is not unlimited, so I would say between 100 to 200.
And it is so great to have a place like Eden Fantasys that has good, honest opinions of products to help make decisions.

Welcome to EF - read the reviews and pay attention to materials.

Silicone, glass and metal have a lot of advantages for both hygiene and function.

My wife thought I was crazy when I started buying glass - but she's a convert now.

Later when the metal ones started showing up she was more open minded until she tried the Pure Wand (Njoy) - then she knew I was on the right track. The Pure Wand is her 'gusher' - she soaks the throe when we use it.

I would spend more than $100 if the item was something I really wanted. I might have to take some time saving for it though as I really don't have much money to drop these days.

I think the quality is worth the price. I am willing to pay up to about 150 dollars on a vibe. I am trying to save up for the Jimmyjane form 6 right now I am normally frugal, but I am willing to splurge on a nice toy just like a nice purse

Like Carrie Ann and a few others said above, there are some toys that give you a sensation that you can't get for cheap. The stainless steel Pure Wand, for example, is unlike anything else I have ever tried - and I have tried a LOT of dildos. However there are other toys that I just do not think are worth their price and I think it's honestly a shame that misled buyers still waste the cash on them. I don't want to name any names, lol, but I think many of us can think of a few off the top of our heads.

However, you definitely don't HAVE to spend a lot to experience something really unique. I don't believe that the "you get what you pay for" expression is patently accurate. For example, the original two speed Wahl vibe is around $35 and on the second setting provides a vibration that is SERIOUSLY unlike ANYTHING else I have ever experienced. You can also enjoy the amazingness of glass for around $25 if you go with something from SSA Glass, for example. So there is plenty of awesomeness to be had for a reasonable price.

Still, there's only one Eroscillator and yes, you're going to pay for it. As was mentioned above, the key is just figuring out WHICH things are worth the money and which are just over-hyped, over-priced pieces of junk. And that's what reviews are for

I'm cheap. I might make an exception for some of the seriously sweet expensive toys like the LELO vibes or the Pure Wand... but not for a robot doll. I think $200 would be my limit.

For MOST items, I'm willing to patiently save up my points and get them on Eden. There is one thing I would love to get that Eden doesn't carry, though: the Liberator couch. It's around $400 but worth every penny, in my opinion, if I had that kind of disposable income. Maybe someday.
