Any of you here own and take care of your plants, inside your home? If you do, how many do you have? Fake/plastic plants don't count. Outdoor plants don't count. If you have a plant that you sometimes place indoors, sometimes out on a patio/porch, you can count that. By "plants," I mean any species in the kingdom Plantae, but do not include fungi, bacteria, etc.
How many plants do you have in your home?

None because I don't know what to get. I need one that requires little water and no sunlight at all, haha.

I'm an ecologist specializing in plant hydraulics... I work closely with a local greenhouse and arboretum... I'm always bringing home new plants (including some rare and unnamed species), and that certainly doesn't count all the plants I work with at my job.

I had one of them. But it died and gave up. This plant was supposed to not die. Well I have up.

I have a few phalaenopsis orchids. Only one is flowering right now though.

When I was back at college I had over a hundred fifty botanical specimens of various kinds and sizes. I was living in a university apartment building with my grad student GF. The building was four or five story and the apartment entrances were from a continuous sort of covered walkway balcony that was open to the elements. I'd built sort of shelves to put my collection of potted plants on to get the late afternoon light and to see from the enormous window next to the door. Thinking about that place now it reminds me of "60 style multi story motel. Anyway my GF and I went out to see a movie and when we got back home my entire collection was gone. I reported it to the campus police with description of the various specimens and an estimated value if I'd purchased them from a greenhouse, well over five hundred bucks back in the mid "80s.
Nothing was ever recovered, I'm still pissed about that.
Many of those specimens I'd grown from cuttings that I'll never again have access to.

We used to have plants, but apartment living hasn't been good to them. We'll have plenty when we get a back yard, though.

We have a mint and tulips.

All my plants commit suicide... seriously I had one jump off the counter hours after I brought it home.

My GF has a place in another state as well as relatives there. So she goes back for weeks at a time occasionally. I've always had cut flowers on the table when she gets back. When I saw that those live orchids were actually less costly than cut flowers and so striking to boot, well I just couldn't resist.
