How many pets do you own?

Contributor: ChubbyNerd ChubbyNerd
My mom has worked at a vet's office most of my life, so we've always had a lot of pets. Right now we own 4 dogs (1 corgi, 1 chocolate lab, 1 random mix that I'm not sure of, and 1 American bulldog/pit bull mix) 2 cats, 1 hermit crab and 1 beta fish.

I really want to get some pet ferrets again, we had some when I was younger. But my mom is afraid if one got out that our dogs would kill it.

How many pets do you own? What are they? Are they any that you wish you could have?

Both of my cats stay with my mom because you cannot bring animals to Austria. So I have none at all at the moment.

Currently I have 3! A fat cat named Jack, a Ball Python named Bindi, and a Hamster named Furbert
Being in college limits me lol I can't wait to have a big house with a huge fenced in yard so I can have a dog ^-^

We have a Pomeranian and 2 cats. I'd love to have horses one day, and another dog or so. My partner and I love animals!

I have 5 cats. I found 3 of them over time, abandoned in my old neighborhood. One of the two oldest is my avatar & she & her sister were abandoned at the Vet's office by a man who was moving in with his girlfriend who didn't like cats; he had raised them from kittens until they were 6 yrs old! I brought them home & then, every year after that, I found another cat! I almost had seven before I moved, but one had to be put down due to advanced renal failure shortly after I found him & the other stray was too sly to let me catch him, darn it. I kept returning to the house to feed him. Thank goodness, no one abandons animals where I currently live!

Right now we have 1 chocolate lab, 1 pomeranian/shih tzu mix, and 3 fish.

Hubby wont let me get any more pets, he put a limit on me. Otherwise I would have birds, ferrets, and all kinds of pets.

I have a black Standard Poodle. Although I would love to have more dogs, I don't have the extra energy to look after another one, taking care of one poodle is way more than enough for me!

Ha i know you and i have talked about this before, but goodness, sometimes i think it's better that i'm unable to catch some cats because i'd probably come home with a new friend on the regular.
Currently i am living with one dog who is a Shepard mix, and four cats. Two of the cats are mine, though one is in his double digets while the other just had his second birthday, and my mother has a cat of her own. The fourth cat is actually belongs to a close friend who was unable to keep him when she moved back home so we offered to foster him until she was able to take him back. He's a great addition to the family though and loves to play with my kitten.
I'd really like to get a ferret or another dog. i just cant right now.

The vet bills, just for routine upkeep, not even considering the surprise stuff, are so expensive! I don't know how people afford more pets than we have! Okay, I know how I afford it, my father foots the bill, God bless him! Without my cats, I'd have no reason to get out of bed in the morning. They are the key to maintaining what little mental health I have left!

I agree with the whole vet bills are so expensive thing! Luckily my mom and I both work at a vet. If we didn't, there's no way we would have as many animals as we do. Some people come into my work and drop $300-$400 in one visit. That's crazy to me!

We have 4 cats right now. One was a stray that just moved into the house because my boyfriend is a sucker. I am just as much of a sucker for letting him stay inside.

One, my cat Sam and he's right beside me right now while I'm on EF. He never wants to be more than 1 yard away from me. You try having play time with the cat watching you, he is definitely put out of the house as a result when I do.
