Okay so I have no problem getting right down to work when it involves researching and what I like to term ‘fun writing’. But right now I seem to be having trouble buckling down and getting a serious writing project done. This doesn’t happen to me too often but I’ve been at it for several days now. Do you procrastinate on important projects/assignments a lot? If so what does one do to make it stop?
How do you stop procrastinating?

I procrastinate a lot. Mainly because I lack energy in a crippled way. I'd say, set yourself alarms: 15 minutes of work *alarm rings* 15 minutes of fun *alarm rings*, etc.

I can't just stop...I usually have to just let my procrastination streak run it's course and then continue whatever I was working on before it started.
Procrastination has killed my last two attempts at NaNoWriMo.

I also have to let it run its course. I do set a deadline, even though I know the real deadline so that does not always help. I do take it in stages sometimes, write a few and go do something, write a few more-lines, paragraphs-minutes-hou rs. Eventually I get excited.
Another thing I do, this is going to be kind of silly but it works great fro me, is grab a beer or glass of wine, set it in the area I am working in, get everything I might need and set it up. Take a break from setting up and listen to very fast, 'feel good' songs to put me in an excellent mood, go to the work area I set up and while still listening to the happy music I think of how fun this writing could be and psych myself into it. Turn the music down or off and get busy. Works most of the time and the beer or wine acts as a reward per paragraph. Before I know it I at least have a good start.
