It might seem like a silly question, but walking around in the pouring rain, on a big 10 campus, we noticed lots of rain boots. Many hundreds of raincoats, but almost no umbrellas ( except a few older folks we guessed were professors). So..." How do you keep dry in the rain"???
How do you stay dry in the rain?

You know, I live on a college campus too and I've also noticed this. It fascinates me how many people wear jackets and boots--but no umbrellas! I always think; "Really? Come on..."

I don't own any rain boots (I don't really like them) and while I do tend to wear jackets in the rain, it's also in conjunction with an umbrella.

Rain coat, since it gets too windy for an umbrella to work effectively

An all-purpose jacket. It's water proof, and works well for most down pours. If it gets bad enough... I just stay inside, hahaha.

I wear a ton of clothes, a hat, and a scarf.

I guess I'm one of the older folks, I use an umbrella, and sometimes a rain coat.

Umbrella, and sometimes a raincoat. I have a love for umbrellas though...

I prefer rain coats. Umbrella issues!

You need a vented umbrella. (windproof). Mine worked great in Sandy's 79 MPH winds!!!!!

With blowing rain, you still get soaked in a raincoat. A vented umbrella did me VERY right during SuperStorm Sandy.

Usually a raincoat, I tend to lose umbrellas.

I don't. I love rain since it happens so rarely out here. I dance in it.

These days?
...I don't, but when I'm not walking the dog I tend to carry an umbrella and wear waterproof shoes.
I hate going out in the rain a lot though, I can't stand it when the bottom of my pant legs get wet and I haven't gotten around to hemming them yet.

I don't put my car's convertible top down when it's raining.
