I really don't like it, and avoid it when I can. I try to keep in mind that when people want to take photos of my family, it's going to be a great thing for my children to look back on. I hardly have any photos of my mom and I because she never wanted her picture taken, I've already made the conscious decision to not let that happen. So while I shy away from the camera in general, if my children are there, I put on my smile with pride and cherish the memory captured.

I never liked having my photo taken...only on rare occasions.

I'm usually the one taking pictures sooo..ya know howw that goes.

I have the same problem with my mother & I told her about it, but it hasn't made her any more gracious about it. She even cuts herself out of photos, such as ones we had a photographer take, so we don't own the negatives! This is why I grin & bear it, too! I don't have children, but my siblings, or whomever else wants the picture, deserves my effort at getting past the discomfort. It's the same thing with my shyness, I have to pretend otherwise & be an adult about it, go up to people, shake their hand, and so on, but I'm not naturally comfortable with that, either! I really think your children will appreciate your efforts!

Usually I am the one who takes the pics but when people want me in them I have to have my hair done and feeling confident or its NOT happening

That is completely understandable, it's always the unflattering pix that get posted to Facebook, etc.!

1. If it's a family and friends type setting, I'm all for it.
2. If it's a vacation photo, I'm all for that as well.
3. If it was the web or social media, I would avoid it like the plague.
4. A drivers license is one of my least favorite. It's one you have the least amount of time to pose for. Also, it never looks as good as you would like, but your stuck with it. If you have had no accidents or tickets in California, they reward you by not updating your license photo. So, it's a constant reminder of what you looked like when you were younger. Oh, and everyone you don't know gets to see it.
5. A passport photo is a necessary evil. The good thing is that it is only viewed by a few, who are sworn to secrecy.
6. Security cameras; What's not to love about someone you don’t know who is peering at you.
7. Intersection and toll booth cameras; Smile!
8. Televised, or newspaper news. Okay, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not sure yet. It would depend on the “context” of the story.
9. God forbid having an arrest, or wanted photo. I suppose I would just hope I had a comb and razor, so that I wouldn’t look like Mel Gibson at 3am in the morning.
10. Suppose I just had my photo taken for having won the Powerball Lottery. If so, this would be one instance when I would say “who gives a damn what I look like“. Yippy!
11. Milk carton photo; Either it was an alien abduction, or sadly other. But, at least it’s a younger photo, and I look pretty damn good.
12. Telephone pole Xerox photo copy, titled missing; Sadly, we all know that’s not good.
13. My obituary photo; The good news is that it‘s the very last photo I need to be concerned about.

I hate taking photos, unless I have a day where I am very confident. I normally just smile and deal with it though.
05/22/2013
I don't mind it at all. I used to like getting my picture taken, but know I don't really care.
05/22/2013
I totally shy away from the camera, I hate looking at myself and I hate the way I look in pictures
05/22/2013
I loathe having my picture taken. It's almost a phobia.
05/22/2013
I just advise them on how to take the picture to get my good side...and all photos should be taken from slightly above, which keeps away the appearance of multiple chins
05/22/2013
I don't mind it, but I do like to be a little prepared and not be subject to a too much of a candid shot.

So, that's the secret! the dreaded double, triple, etc., chins! If I didn't have to smile, then I wouldn't have to worry about the damned chins! But, everyone wants you to smile! Got my brother's wedding coming up in August, just shoot me!

I don't particularly enjoy having my picture taken, but if someone insists on it then I'll allow it, but ONLY if I get to make a face. (Even the majority of our wedding photos are this way.)
05/22/2013
I don't like it but I'll grin and bear it!

I guess I dont care either way. i dont go out of my way to get my picture taken.

I enjoy it!!

I'm not photogenic, so I'm not real fond of it.

It depends on how I'm looking and feeling at the time. Sometimes I love it, other times I'd rather smash the camera.
05/22/2013
I never allow pictures of me to be taken, even when my mom asks for one.

Depends. If it's a family member or friends wanting to take pics of me with them, I'll do it. If it was anyone else, I'd probably not just let them take a photo of just me. Lol. It can be awkward when your friends and family are all like "let me take a pic of you!" Lol. But usually, I'll just give them the evil eyes and then let them. My mom likes taking photos of all of us when we go places & I'll do that no problem. It's fun to have pics of all of us together doing something crazy or fun.

I love photos, it's always nice to see pictures from past social occasions or memorable times or even just a normal night with my roommates. Buuuuuuuut I'm horribly self conscious, I don't think I'm unattractive but I'm definitely not photogenic at ALL so I cover it up by being a huge dumbass in pictures. There's hardly any "nice" pictures of me anywhere, I'm ALWAYS making a dumb face or attempting to look as hideous as possible. It's rare to get a nice picture of me, so I don't even try to look good!
05/23/2013
I used to love having my picture taken and I'd always take pictures of myself... But lately I hate when someone tries to take it.
