How do you get your interwebs?

Contributor: El-Jaro El-Jaro
I just switched from Comcast to ATT U-verse when I moved. So far, I like it.

I'm just wondering who uses what for their interwebs and tv.

My internet service isn't listed. DirecTV has satellite internet.

We use Clear. And it sucks. But, unless we go to Charter it's our only option. For some stupid reason AT&T DSL (w/o a phone line) is not an option.

We have Mediacom for both cable and internet.

DO NOT GET CHARTER!!!!!!!11 Read the reviews. I have it, since I only had one option in my apartment. They make me want to do violent things. You pay a ton of money for very slow internet and like 10 english channels, since the other 40 are in Armenian and spanish and korean.

I really couldn't tell a different between Charter and Comcast.

The nice thing about ATT U-verse is that you don't need a wireless router to connect. With cable interwebs, you need to get a router to go with the modem (or get a combo router/modem).

We have Comcast which for the most part isn't too bad. The biggest thing I dislike is that if we have no cable, we have no internet. And while I work all day without the TV on and don't care about that, I have to go find somewhere else with internet to be able to work if it's out during the day. Otherwise, no real complaints about my internet.

I have my local cable company right now, but out of all that I've used in the last few years (I moved a *lot*) my favorite by far is Verizon Fios. It is the best, hands down.

We have Frontier Fios, they took over Verizon's accounts.

No worries. There's no plan to ever use Charter for anything. I like the services we currently use. We'd have to move to an area that Charter was the ONLY option and even then we'd probably figure out a way to get around it.

We also switched from Comcast to U-verse about a year ago, and have never looked back. 100% improvement.

We have cable internet. AT&T is terribly slow in our area. Our next door neighbor has it to "save money" as they used to have Comcast, and they HATE it. I would say it's at least 10 times slower than our Comcast.

It could be our area, but in the Chicago burbs, At&T is notorious for being dead slow. I would never switch to AT&T.

I can't even describe the amount of hate that I have for ATT after all the trouble they have put me through. I will NEVER even consider getting any of their services again.

Some DirecTV dealers also pair Verizon with TV service, too.

We have charter now. Have used Time Warner. Loved Verizon's DSL some 6 years ago (the company has sold most of their small-town DSL offerings to other companies, though).

IMO, the options would better be

Cable
DSL
Satellite
Dial-up
Broadband Mobile
Free WiFi

I'll admit to being the person who voted ... don't tell the neighbours....

Here in Australia we don't have as many options as you US folks - especially if you live in a country area like I do.

I survive on a combination of incredibly expensive mobile broadband (around $50 for 4GB) and the wireless connection that a neighbour hasn't secured in over 18 months. Not good I know to be stealing their internet but as most wireless plans are unlimited download and they haven't noticed it after all this time I think it's pretty safe to say it isn't costing them a cent.
