I will only use sugar.
If sugar's not available I'm not afraid of corn syrup or raw sugar or honey (or other syrups derived from evaporating natural sugars, maple sugar and what-all).
But no way will I ever eat those non-digestable sweeteners.

Indeed. The side effects (and histories) associated with artificial sweeteners are straight out of a horror film.

As much as I could use something with less calories, I can't use artificial sweeteners. They give me headaches. Let alone whatever else they could be doing to my body. Just sugar, here.

I hear that aspartame is linked to cancer and it gives me a major headache, as others have said. I like cane sugar as a sweetener, but I've been known to use brown sugar to sweeten my coffee some mornings.

I'll use pretty much anything that isn't an artificial sweetener. I have nothing against sugar that's been processed, or sugar in the raw, or anything else like that. But pretty much anything that's a "diet" anything tastes horrible to me. I'd much rather go with something my body has a vague idea how to process, and artificial sweeteners aren't that.
