Be honest, do you ever kind of miss your lover not having tat's?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
I have been friends with my Hairdresser for years. We go out on occasion with a group of woman, just for fun. She has numerous "tat's" where they are usually covered by cloths. She has, for instance, a huge "vine with butterflies" on her right thigh. Very well done, very colorful and pretty (for what it is), but I am not personally into Tat's...but she loves it.

Her hubby and mine are also friends and they were at a "guy's gathering" the other day watching football and her hubby (with a few beers loosening his tongue), admitted that he loves how his wife looks (she is a doll), but that he misses seeing her skin, sometimes, as there is more "colored canvas then flesh to look at". He said he "missed the pure pink beautiful body of the girl he married five years ago".

He would never tell her this. He has a couple tat's as well, and doesn't really "mind them", but that was an interesting and honest observation on his part.

Anyone else ever feel that way?

I love my boyfriend's tattoo (just one at the moment) and completely support his desire to get more. He's also very fond of my ink.

My fiancé has a tattoo but it's nothing too big or annoying BUT I do wish he didn't get it, sometimes...it's kinda dated (as he got it MANY years ago).

It also reminds me of how stupid he was at one time...just wish he never got it, honestly...

I love my girlfriend's tattoos, though she does has quite a few, all of them are small.

My husband has a tattoo that he got before we ever met. It doesn't affect me one way or the other. It's just something that's always been a part of him for as long as I've known him.

I have two tattoos, but they're so simple and out of the way that there's never really been a conversation about it. My SO has been contemplating getting a back piece for a while. I think I should tell him that I love his big fleshy back the way it is!

I wouldn't mind if my boyfriend got tats. I'd like it if he told me before hand and let me put in a vote on WHAT he gets but other than that, I don't mind.

If he were going to get his whole back done or something I would advise against it...it's his body and money. He can do what he wants with it.

My partner and I both have tattoos though two of mine are fairly big, they aren't generally visible when I am wearing clothes. I don't mind his one bit. I asked him if he ever missed seeing me without them, and he looked at me like I was crazy. He said he loves mine.

I agree with him especially because they just become a part of you.

I can understand your husband's friends feelings though. Especially if she is heavily tattooed.

My fiance doesn't have any tattoos. I'd like it if he did get some, but I won't force it on him. He does want to get at least one. I don't like his idea for what he does want to get (something from a video game), though I suppose it's mostly my personal taste of not liking the idea of tattooing on video game references.

This is why I wouldn't date someone with tattoos, because I'd just want to scrub then off so that I could see them "completely naked" as it were.

I don't mind tattoos as long as their whole body isn't cover I'm ok, and even then it's their choice.

Never even though of it. He doesn't have any and either way, I truly don't care to the extent that I'd miss them or wish he did have them. If he did have em', fine. If not, fine.

To be honest, I find tattoos quite the turn on myself.
Matter of fact, I was sure my boyfriend would never get one...only to be (very) pleasantly surprised one afternoon when he texted me a picture of one (only one at all on his body) he had just gotten.

That said, there are...limits...for my tastes anyway.
If you've got more ink than you do clear skin, it's probably a bit too much.

Tattoos are sexy and I don't care either way but I see where he's coming from if my guy had almost all his skin covered in ink I would probably miss looking at natural him...he doesn't have any though.

Tattoo's to me are very hot (if they put thought into them and they actually mean something to them) But I think it takes a specific kind of person to pull off the casual sexy tattoo look. Tattoo's on my boyfriend would be as out of place as a fish out of water. He's a conservative hard ass and would never get a tattoo, I'd love to get a couples tattoo though. I want a few tattoo's too but he doesn't like them, but to be fair I've wanted them since before we even got together and I put up with so much of his nonsense and have stuck by him that I feel he needs to just suck it up and deal with it.
