Thanks to facebook it's easy to find or in some rare cases "Stalk" your old high school chums. This may sound insanely mean, but does anyone else find a twisted enjoyment in seeing the ones you either had a crush on or considered hot have now fallen victim to time and over exposure to heat lamps in tanning beds?
I had my actual High School crush, actually from when I was in 3rd grade till senior year find me on facebook. Her message said something along the lines of, I have no idea who you are but I see that you graduated from my school in the same year and blah blah blah. I couldn't help but feel a little hurt by this. The only comfort I could find is that she had lost her looks. It's mean I know becasue I'm not big on looks seriously, but for some damned reason it made me feel better?
Am I a dick for feeling this way or is it just human nature?

You felt hurt that she didn't remember you and reached out for some possible thing to make it hurt less...her not being as attractive as you remember might make her less desirable to you and your past self in some way, and make you feel a bit better.

I'd say considering that, you are most certainly not a dick, just a human being.

You'd be a dick if you actually said it to her. Otherwise, it's just human nature reacting to being hurt.

I just can't summon the energy to feel smug or whatnot concerning the people who were teenage twats in high school and how they turned out. They mean so little to me in the long run, I suppose. less
