Have you heard about the plans to end penny production?

I personally think that prices will be rounded UP to the nearest five cents, never down. How about you? What is your thought?

I hope the prices of the pennies I'm hoarding goes up higher

There's been talk for a while, and I suppose it makes sense when it costs more to make them than they're worth. I think they'll round up prices, for sure.

they have been talking about this for along time. It comes up every year or two.

The nickles and dimes also cost more to make then they are worth.

They way it tends to work is that if your change comes to an amount non-divisible by 5, and you want change, it gets alternatively rounded up and down (evens out over time). Prices will probably go up by $0.01, which isn't really a big deal given how often pennies tend to get lost

It's constant in the media. I'll believe it when I see it.

I wouldn't mind a bit. I always seem to accumulate loads of them and then I never have them when I need them.

Kind of mind-blowing to realize that, around the turn of the 20th century, a penny was worth about what a dollar is worth today.

I don't like the idea even though I hate dealing with pennies.

Meh, I don't mind pennies. Never heard of this, but it sounds suspect.

I've heard threats of this for at least 20 years now. They'll never get around to doing it.

I'll believe it when they finally do it. Until then I have no real opinion on the matter.

I think too much fuss would happen if they tried and the system would be reversed.
