Yes, if I remember right, it was Celexa. I had postpartum depression after my last pregnancy.

Yes I have taken a few, but they gave me pretty bad side effects. I found exercising everyday was better for my depression than anything else

yes I have taken different things at different times, but I found a low dosage of Zoloft and a mood stabilizer Lamictrol help me manage my bi polar.

I'm currently on two SSRI medications, and have been taking antidepressants for close to 10 years now.

Yes--I had to take Prozac for a few years but was able to wean off it--not sure if it was a good permanent idea or not. Most of the time I feel okay, but after the wreck, not sure.

I haven't. But I've taken anxiety meds, which I no longer take or need. Yay! I'm glad my spells of depression haven't led me to the point of needing medication. I couldn't imagine how tough it is for those who do require it. I thought I'd never break out of two different episodes of depression, so I can imagine the feeling of hopelessness must be intense when it's a long-term thing.

Yes. I have taken Lexapro, Prozac, Zoloft, and Cymbalta over the course of the past 10 years.

Yes, and hated one, the other did nothing, and she tried to give me one that had blood sugar side effects-despite my family history of diabetes. Screw that.

Yes, and none of them worked...Celexa worked for my anxiety when I wasn't pregnant, but now that I'm 7 months pregnant it does nothing.

I have and it was a horrible experience. It made me feel like a zombie, or robotic. I had no emotion at all. It also made me gain a substantial amount of weight which in turn, made my depression much worse.

My doctor told me I should just eat less and that would help but while on the meds I was constantly hungry and no matter how much or little I ate, it was never enough.

Finally when I got off of them, I dropped like 20 pounds on a month and felt much better.

Needless to say I'm never going to do that again. I will manage without.

I am on Lexapro and Trazodone. To which I only take when I really need it because I hate the way Lexapro makes me feel and then the Trazodone still makes me a little drowsy in the morning and makes it hard to deal with getting up with my 2 year old.

I was on Wellbutrin(sp?) when I was a teenager. My parents literally said I might as well be a zombie because the medicine made me seem like nothing was happening around me. They even set a loud noise off near me and I was like, "Oh. Hi. Loud noise." I didn't even jump.
Now that I've been off for five years, I'm much better and been dealing with my depression on my own.

Yes and I've had so many bad side effects. I am on something now but it's a low dose.

I've been on lexapro and wellbutrin on and off for the last 4-ish years. I had a time period where I got weaned off it for a year and I recently got weaned off it again. I do believe they can help, alongside therapy and a desire to get better. They had side effects but for the most part I believe they're worth it.

I have been on two for about fifteen years. I have stopped several times, thinking I can handle this on my own, but the truth is that I can't even fake stability and behave normally if not on meds. Without my meds I would not be able to work, and my marruage would have ended the first year. There are side effects to the meds of course, but the benefits of the meds outweigh the nuisance of side efftects.

No...surprisingly, I had two different individuals who tried to put me on medication. I saw what it did to other people, and I wasn't impressed and so refused.

Yes I have, back when I was a teenager. I personally think that antidepressants are dangerous and should only be prescribed in very serious cases of depression, for example when a person is suicidal. I am now taking a combination of supplements (GABA, 5-HTP, L-Tyrosine and DMAE) that work very well without the bad side effects of prescription medication.

No, I've never taken anything for depression, but I think I would give it a try, if I was convinced it would help me.
