I sent my hubby on a fool's errand today. He is going to be soooo mad when he realizes my complete errand, location, etc. was total bullshit!!!

Why would I do this--okay, title gave it away!! I have just pulled off what he said could never be done again--his SECOND surprise birthday party! He has absolutely no clue whatsoever, since his birthday was LAST Monday....hehehehehe!! ! So excited!!

I had a surprise 40th birthday party for my mom. I had my aunt ask my mom to go shopping with her; my aunt needed window treatments and my mom loves decorating.

In the meantime, I picked up everything necessary and decorated the house. My cousin, who worked at a bakery, was able to get my a discount on the cake and rolls. She came over early and helped me.

My mom came home and had no idea. It was great.

When I was younger, my Mom through a surprise party for my Dad.

She planned it on the night that he was scheduled to have colleagues over for their monthly poker game, and had his best friend "call with a flat tire". When Dad went to help his friend, everyone arrived and by the time Dad got back it was a full on party!

One person showed up early, but thankfully it was one of his normal poker buddies, so it didn't raise any suspicion.

His party went off perfectly!!! I had our friends and relatives park the vehicles at the neighbor's house--I did get permission first, lol! When my hubby came stomping in the door because he just could NOT find the "business", "sign" or Road" I told him about when I asked for his advice...(Hmmm, could it be that I made it all up????) When I told him I did not get any of the directions or the name of the business wrong at all--that I would have actually been shocked if he really did find it, our guests came out of hiding and surprised him!!!!! (He got over the fake job advice pretty dang quickly!!)

Back in high school, I helped plot two surprised birthday parties for friends - for one of them, I scanned their address book for invitee addresses, and the other I was in charge of keeping her schoolmates informed of the details.

I never had one myself - everyone has taken my shyness and introversion into consideration, so I've never been put on the spot like that. Although I've had surprise presents sprung on me, so that has taken the place of surprising me with a whole party.

I had one surprise birthday / moving party when I was younger, but none since then. I've never helped set one up though, since it would be pretty fun to do I think!

yes! I pulled a surprise party for my best friend. It went well, but even planning a surprise party can get tiresome. I actually know that I'd hate to receive a surprise party.
