Have you ever had surgery ( any kind)? The only major thing I have ever done was giving birth to my daughter, but my daughter has now had surgery 2 different times

When I was about 16 I had surgery on a shattered hand, and later had knee surgery when I was about 19 or so

Had an appendectomy. Apparently 10% of the population develops appendicitis. Stupid useless organ, just waiting to get inflamed.

Orthoscopic surgery for two tendons and a nerve on my left middle finger, had 1/4" amputated off my left thumb and a growth removed from my right knee.
The finger was from a stupid stunt where a friend pulled a VERY sharp knife across my leg and was stupid enough to try and grab it. My thumb was caught in a car door and the piece that was sewed back on did not heal right. The growth was from an bike wreck I had when I was a kid, seems there was something that got caught inside my knee.

I had my tubes tied twice, I had a tubal reversal, I had many many exploratory laparoscopies, and finally last year had a hysterectomy. Oh yeah I had to have a new tear duct rebuilt too. I had enough LOL
but I think reflux surgery is on my horizon as well.

Do you have permanent nerve damage from that? Glad you didn't lose more than 1/4 of your thumb, but what you did is instinct/reaction to a knife being drug across your leg.

I had one surgery to remove a cyst from my hand. I've had one vaginal birth and didn't even get stitches for that.

I have never had to have any type of surgery. My only hospital stays were my 2 kids and that was only the required 1 day. I had them both vaginally, no drugs so I was up and ready to get out of there. When I was a kid I had to get stitches b/c I ran into my parents bar that had sharp corners. I was always told not to run in the house and I just caught it right.

Actual surgery - ear problems that required tubes put in and taken out when I was younger. Only other surgery is getting my tubes tied (just last year, 2011).
Anything else were just ER things from being a clumsy kid.

When I was a small child I had an abscess in my throat, so I had to have that removed. And I had to have a D&C in 2007. Nothing major as of yet.
My hubby has had major surgery. He had to have steel plates put into his neck when he broke his neck. And they took part of his hip bone to help regrow more bone.

I've had more than a few and I need a few more.

I've had a number of surgeries. I had urinary tract surgery when I was in college (the most painful and difficult to recover from surgery to date.... and I may need it again soon.) I've had several D&Cs, one for a miscarriage and one during a laproscopic surgical for endometriosis, three C Sections and one other lower abdominal surgery.
Yuck.
Yuck.

The tendon adhered to the bone while healing and there is a little lose of feeling on one side of the finger and I can only bend it about half way. Can't make a full fist either because of it. Hasn't been a problem though. My thumb is fine, just hurts like hell if I jamb it and the nail is thicker than any other nail, even my big toes.

Ya, well the screwed up part is I actually thought I could grab it from him, plus I had on a brand new pair of white jeans and the house we were in ahad new white carpet! That and I was the one who sharpened the knife (I shaved with that knife it was so sharp lol). Ah the joys of drinking and drugs and being young.

nope and hope i never do
05/21/2012
For awhile there, I swear I lived at the ER!
05/21/2012
5 surgeries
05/21/2012
I had my adenoids taken out when I was two, then had my wisdom teeth removed a few years ago. That's about it.
05/21/2012
I had my appendix removed.
05/21/2012
Does wisdom teeth extraction count? In any case, I also had surgery to repair a collapsed lung.
05/21/2012
just 1, i had hernia in my belly button
05/21/2012
i had tubesput in my ears when i was a baby a tonselectomy at 16 and wisdom teeth out at 18
05/21/2012
Yes when I was less thank one. I had to fix my kidneys.
05/21/2012
Too many, but they were all done in the same year, and I'm sure I've met my quota, so I'm good for always now.
05/21/2012
I had two. The doc has to remove a sty from my right eye's upper eyelid because it was really swollen. The second surgery I've had was a caesarean section to get my son out due to a breech birth.
05/21/2012
2.. tonsils as a child, and a partial hysterectomy at 20
05/21/2012
I'm not sure if a closed reduction on a broken finger and an IUD placement count (they did for insurance purposes...) so...other?
05/21/2012
either 1 or 2 depending on definitions. I had surgery on my foot when I was 12.
I also either had my wisdom teeth romoved under full anesthetic. not sure if that one counts...

Had two tumors removed from my ankle, tonsillectomy when I was 19 (horrible as an adult), detached retina repair in 99, hysterectomy in 91. That's plenty for me!!
