Have you ever had issues with the mail man?

Contributor: Falsepast Falsepast
Usually I have the same mail man, but sometimes I get another guy who pretty much just drops my package onto the ground like nothing.

It's not that big of a deal, (due to Eden's great packaging nothing has broken) it's just that I'd think they would put more consideration into other peoples property -_-

So has anyone actually had something break or have a mailman carelessly throw your stuff around?

I'm lucky that my usual mail lady is super nice. When I have a package she rings my doorbell so I can take the package from her rather than have her leave it at my doorstep. The weekend lady just leaves them, but never throws them or damages them.

The UPS guys think I'm weird because they deliver to our side door but I always hear them and run from the front door and say "I'll take it!" Scares the crap out of them. lol

I get a ton of packages and yes, I've had numerous things get broken. One time I swear he ran over the damn thing with his truck. The box was completely mangled. What an ass!

For some reason there are two mailmen who deliver to my house. One of them will ring the doorbell and if no one answers the package goes back to the post office where I have to pick it up. The other will either packages on my front porch, on my front step, or sitting out by my garage door. It's sort of like a scavenger hunt to try and find where my packages went!

Call your Post Office if this happens. Take a picture of the damaged package and (even though you'll have to talk to 20 computers and voice mails and probably take a while to get to talk to a real person, stay focused and make sure you talk to someone in charge. OR just GO to the Post Office and make your complaint.

Stay calm, stay focused and hopefully something will be done.

Years ago, we had a mail carrier who didn't do his job properly. As we live in an unusual area, and the carrier needs to be in a small delivery truck to deliver the mail, he would often not want to get out of his truck to deliver packages or Certified Letters, preferring to leave a "Sorry I missed you" note. I actually caught him once, leaving the note (while I was sitting in the living room, and he was at the box, refusing to come to the door.) I ran down the street, with the note, and let him know I was home and I SAW him not bother to get out of his truck. It was the SECOND time he had done this with this same package. I also called the Post Office, and let them know. This guy also would be caught sleeping in his truck at the end of our street, would not deliver mail for days and then deliver a huge stack, and was rude to boot.

He was replaced, when a number of people in the neighborhood called or went to the Post Office to complain about him.

The Mail Carrier we have now is very conscientious and does his job.

I deal with UPS and FED EX every day. If you only knew how bad they treat your products you'd get insurance everytime. NOTE: Never mark Fragile on a package, those are the first ones to be damage, intentionally. Seriously! Did you know if these companies merged they'd be named...wait for it...FEDUP.

I don't have a problem with my mail lady. We have community mailboxes and she just drives right up to the boxes and transfer letters and packages from her truck right into the individual boxes; the packages are always nice and clean.

Oh WOOOOOWWWWWW. The mailman is to blame BUT so is the neighbor. There is clearly a label that SHOULD be read there! If that was me, I would've been screaming at the top of my lungs for years

Wow. Looking at this and the post above I suddenly realize how lucky I am for having a nice usual mail man

My usual mail man told me that due to a high number of package thefts they are technically not supposed to leave packages out unattended anymore, which is why your package got sent back. That happened to me 2x before.

My UPS guy delivers it fine, but he always delivers it really late at night and leaves it super close to the gate, which worries me.

No issues here. The only thing that is slightly annoying is that the UPS guy won't leave packages by the door if we're not home or can't answer the door right away, so we have to pick them up at the apartment leasing office. It's a VERY safe/trustworthy neighborhood, so I'm not worried about theft, so it's kind of annoying to make the special trip. USPS leaves packages by the door, which is why I prefer them.

My mailman leaves my packages in a secure lock box and puts the key in my mailbox.

My mailmen always seem pretty unenthusiastic or pissed off when I'm signing for a package. I've had several awkward experiences where I used random aliases like "Catfish" or "Koala" and the mailman just gave me the most unamused look and I swear I could hear him scoff.

Yes, I hate the mail-carriers over here! I always complain to them because they don't leave delivery notices and tend to drop my packages off outside my townhouse door! I've had several disputes with them just this year alone. Apparently, I live on an auxiliary route or something like that, which means that I don't have a specific mailman; there's usually so I never get mail at the same time. It's always unpredictable and it makes getting packages a nightmare over here.

Lately, the mail-carriers have been actually knocking, so maybe my complaints finally reached someone who put a fire under my post offices' ass!

My only complaint with my mail carrier is that there is no telling what time the mail will come. Sometimes it's early and sometimes it's after 4 or 5 in the afternoon. I don't know why this happens, but it's really irritating when I'm waiting for a check and can't take it to the bank because by the time I got the mail, it was too late.
