I've heard of it and seen it around. I'm vegetarian though and all the Dim Sum I've seen has meat in it. Thus I cannot eat it. I have no idea if it's good or not. If I could find some veggie Dim Sum, I'd try it for sure.
Have you ever had Chinese Dim Sum?

I will have to try to check this out, never heard of it.

I've had the style before. My biggest thing is the sesame oil. My body just doesn't react well to it.

I'm just not fond of the dumpling it's encased in; too...weird of a texture for me.

I love duck's feet also, which Dim Sum place in San Diego do they serve duck's feet? I didn't drive down to San Diego last time I was in SoCal, only stayed in Irvine and had Dim Sum there...not too many variety to choose from. Not all restaurants serve duck's feet in their Dim Sum menu, it's more of a delicacy than chicken feet and the restaurants usually save it for a specialty dish.

Sorry to hear that, Chinese (and Koreans) do often use sesame oil in their recipes.

But there are a lot of other Dim Sum choices beside the ones in the dumpling forms.

No I haven't.

I've liked a lot of the wide variety of dim sum that I have had. The one glaring exception though... chicken feet! Pardon my french, but holy s%@t are they disgusting. To each his own, but really, chicken feet? For those that have not had them, they are just hundreds of tiny bones encased in really tough skin. That's it. I tried them two years ago and I am still picking bones out of my teeth. And the place where I had them was reputed to be the best place for chicken feet and there was a line out the door. Give me a Shanghai Dumpling over chicken feet any day of the week.

It is an eating priority whenever I'm in a place that has real dim sum restaurants.

Have the people who haven't tried Dim Sum tried Costco "Dim Sum" - go around a Costco and eat the various food samples all afternoon.

Dim Sum does not refer to a specific dish, rather it refers to a style of eating small dishes, something like tapas or mezze. Dim Sum literally translates as "a little piece of the heart." Dumplings are often a part of Dim Sum and can come in literally hundreds of varieties.
