Have you ever dyed your hair? If so, what colors?

I have had pink hair in my younger years.

People are generally shocked speechless when I tell them I wasn't born with red hair - it was dishwater blonde, but everything else about me screams that I need red hair. It's been red in one shade or another for almost twenty years now. My usual product is Revlon Colorsilk #42-Medium Auburn, but I'll be trying out Revlon Colorsilk #56-True Auburn this summer.
I did try out lavender streaks in my mid-20's. There was also a period of time in high school when my hair was a cranberry-grape color (same color as the Ocean Spray juice). Another period just after high school was an experiment in chunky platinum streaks - it was quite a statement.
There are temporary colors available that wash out after so many washes. And you can also help wash them out faster by using Suave Clarifying shampoo.

Haha, you and me both hun! I have pale skin, freckles all over and green eyes and was born with very light on the reddish brown hair. I always use the Colorsilk Medium Auburn I've only dyed it black once or twice and then right back to red once it grew out.

i've had pink extentions

I usually stick with dying my hair black. I use to pick Auburn, but I decided that I didn't like it anymore. I have had red and pink hair in the past. I really want to dye it pink again. Hubby doesn't like that though.

I dyed my hair once. I have reddish brown hair and I dyed it black.

I used to dye my hair red. I've used all colors of red. I got tired of it a few years ago, and tried black. My husband LOVED it.
I found L'Oreal Feria Bright Black, which I now think is called "Starry Starry Night" It is a dark, cool black with blue undertones. When it starts to fade, as black dye does, I touch it up with blue or purple Manic Panic.

I regularly color my hair a dark red shade. When I was younger, I tried just about everything. I had platinum blonde where I had a yellow remover so it was more like a paper white. I've also had deep blue-turquoise, black, brown, copper, blonde, pink, bright red, purple, orange, and yellow. I've always wanted to try a rainbow look but the closest I've come to mixing colors was dying my hair a dark purple (almost black) and leaving the tips white from when I had it paper white. It looked awesome but it wasn't meant to last, sadly.

just blond one time.

I usually stick with blond highlights and brown lowlights. I have naturally dark blond hair. I have dyed it all red and I loved it! So did the boyfriend, he said it was like sleeping with a new woman. But it was so hard to keep up with, it faded quickly, had to be re-done every 3 weeks when the roots would come in and the red color got on towels, pillowcases, the necks of my shirts. I was getting it done by a pro too, not the boxed stuff at the store. I loved it but it was just too much work so I went back to blond.

The kind of black I like has blue undertones too. I usually use Color Silk Blue black.

The red was a mistake at home. Now I just go to the salon! I had red hair as a young child and didnt like it. It is light brown now.

I hate the way my hair turns light in the summer, so I dye it dark.

My hair has been dyed every color! It is scary because once you dye it it's hard to go back, especially if it's black like mine! I've had purple and blue and crazy colored hair before. It washes out but the stain still remains and a light bleaching could take the extra tint out so you can recolor it again. Is your hair short? If so I'd say go for it because it won't take very long to grow back if you change your mind. My hair is long and all the way down to my butt! I dye it all black. I can't dye it all a crazy color or anything because it's too difficult and expensive.
I'm not a hairdresser but I have a lot of experience with hairdye. If you have any questions you can send me a message if you want. =]

I've always wanted to dye the ends or the bottom half purple Or maybe dip dye fading from purple to blue to my natural color? It's interesting to see how many people have dyed their hair! I never realized it was so popular! Interesting!

@VioletMoonstone! Thank you! I'll keep that in mind!

I've been coloring mine since I was in my 20s - early graying. I have normally gone with light to dark brown with either red or blonde highlights.

Our daughter did the pink, green, blue hair thing...before becoming a doctor. Now that just won't fly. I am too old to have gone there. I color, but to get the GRAY out and get my sandy brown back!!!

I'm a bit of an odd duck here, I've never dyed my hair and I don't plan to ever do so. I was born with red hair and I love it. I get a great giggle out of all the fake red heads and just shake my head when I see a red head who tries to go blond, brunette or black.
05/24/2012
I've only dyed my hair once and it was half black
05/24/2012
I've done half my hair pinks or purples before. I would love to do cartoon red or blue sometime.

I have also had pink but my fav was black with purple streaks twas awesome!!!

You are really lucky to be born red, that's for sure. We, who have to color so our complexions make sense, envy you.

I don't do my hair super often. But I've done red and black for natural colors (I normally have brown hair) and I've also done pink and blonde highlights.

I've been dying my hair blonde since i was 13. I was blonde as a little girl and then
My hair turned brown so I started dying it blonde ever since. Right now I have black on the bottom and blonde on top.

I've been dying my hair since I was 12. I've been everywhere from bleached blonde to maroon to red to dark brown with highlights, lowlights, panels. You name it, I've done it.
