This is going to be a closed poll. But I was just wondering how many members on EF have done drugs? I mean have you ever? Do you now? Or have you ever thought about it? Do you know anyone else who does or has done drugs? Have you ever lost a friend or family member to drugs?

To answer the last questions first, no I do not do them now and nobody I knew has died from them.

I have done, LSD, Cocaine (snorted and smoked crack), Speed, Crystal Meth, Mushrooms and smoked more pot than most hippy's ever dreamed about. Crystal and meth were only once or twice, I did not care for them. LSD was quite a few times, don't remember how many times. I was hooked hard on Cocaine for two years, till I found myself scrounging on the floor for a rock that I had dropped. Anything that looked like a rock went into the pipe and got smoked, never did find the rock. I quit cold turkey that day and never did any kind of cocaine again. I was a 3/4 oz. a day pot smoker till two years ago. Move to a new state and have only smoked a little bit since, can't afford the price they want up here. I miss it a bit but I think it is for the best.

Kudos to you Dwtim for quitting cold turkey! That is one long hard road! I do not know from experience because all I ever did was pot, but then I got into LSD and pot hardcore when my father completed suicide when I was 18. But my husband quit Meth cold turkey 6 months before we actually met and he was addicted for about a 1 1/2 if not 2 years before hand. So when we first met he was just starting to put weight back on. Three and a half years later he is still clean and I've been fattening him up with all my love and cooking. He's since quit ciggs cold turkey too....if only I had his willpower to get off the ciggs. I'm so ready to be a nonsmoker!!

I drink but have never done drugs. They just never appealed to me. I don't even like to take things like Advil so I guess it makes sense. I have never lost anyone to drugs either. I had a cousin who did (does?) cocaine and seeing him lose everything wasn't pretty.

I have never done drugs or lost a person who lost a friend/family member to drugs. I think its waste of time whats the point of getting high..deal with your problems now.. face them.. but for those people who deal with there problems on a daily basis..try new things try getting a hobby something fun to you.

I only smoke pot...I have a lot of family members that have had addiction problems and I don't really want to join the ranks.

I've never tried any drugs. I don't know anyone who has died, but I have seen a family member struggle with addiction which is a big part of the reason I have avoided them.

I've never tried any drugs. I drank a lot in high school and college and started smoking cigarettes but I'm too scared of getting caught to try anything else.

I've not lost anyone I know to drugs thankfully.

I say kudos to anyone who's done drugs and stepped away from it because it seems like one of the hardest things people try to do.

I agree it is a hard thing to do. I have done drugs in the past and stopped. Yet I always seem to start back up again. I am one of these people that start and stop all the time. Such a pain in the ass to be honest.

So like littlezimmey said Kudos to anyone who has quit doing drugs.

I've smoked weed on and off for the past 15 years. It doesn't do as much for me as it did when I was younger, so I tapered off mostly and only do it on rare occasions. I have also lost too many people to drugs and alcohol, including my father (alcohol, heroin abuse), my stepfather (alcohol, cocaine, meth), and several longtime family friends. Anything harder than weed does not appeal to me at all due to seeing so many die from drug abuse. Plus I deal with drug addicted people due to my job.

I never and will not deal with drugs, it is so dangerous. Also, I like to be wake up all the time, so drugs and alcohols are not a friend of mine for the last day of my life.

I have done a wide range of drugs. I will only say, that I only currently smoke pot. I gave up all the other drugs after high school. I do not advertise my past drug use though.

I have never done drugs nor would I ever. I don't consider pot a drug, since it's a plant. I would like to try it some day if/when the opportunity arises.

The only drugs I've ever done was smoke pot several times. I had a friend who passed out after doing drugs and drinking and suffocated in her own vomit. Also had a cousin who had a drug problem for years then finally died from health problems caused by those drugs.

Have done, but don't currently, and have lost many family members to drug/alcohol abuse.

I never did any drugs and don't have any family members who we lost due to drugs. I saw what they do to people in the general hospital and then 14 years in psychiatric nursing...bad stuff and I didn't want to go there!

I've never done drugs, and I've never really cared to or thought much about it. My friends did, but I never got into it, and never wanted to.

I've experimented with different drugs, mostly in high school. While I know there are risks involved when taking drugs I also think that there can be benefits. I think that there should be safe places to experiment with substances and that lessening the stigma associated with drug use would lessen the risks. People could get educated on safer drug use and would not be as afraid to ask for help.
