Do you hate it when people just come over and don't call first? We especially hate it because we are naked at home and its just a pain in the ass to put on clothes. Any thoughts?

Ya I would like a phone call first. My husbands family likes to just drop in. I just like to be able to have a clean house and what not before people come over. We don't have the best cell phone service were we are so sometimes they do call and we just don't ever get it. Haha the last time this happened we were in the middle of having sex. Theres nothing like trying to dress on the run.

I also dislike "the pop in". Even if it's someone close to me, I'd like to at least have like a 10 or 15 minute heads up so I can throw some clothes on too. LOL
(I've been known to not answer the door sometimes in that situation. )

Yes, I just don't take kindly to people interrupting my plans.
03/14/2011
I don't like it when people do that either. I used to know people who'd do that...until I tried turning the table on them after telling them to knock it off.
Just an email, im, or phone call to let you know...right?

Why can't people just call. It's so much easier now that a majority of people have cell phones.
I hate it too.

I hate it. I used to not mind, but then when I had kids, people would stop by to see the baby unannounced. I hated that. I felt like everyone else got to see my baby more than I did and I never got any rest. So when we bought a house we moved out in the boonies, so nobody has a reason to stop by anymore, haha. It has worked wonderfully

this has never happened to me
03/15/2011
I don't really mind, anyone who comes over randomly has probably seen me at least half naked already. Plus I live with roommates, and they usually answer the door for me.
03/15/2011
I had some relatives that were really bad for just dropping by unannounced. I hate that! It is so rude.
03/15/2011
As long as it isn't early in the morning or later in the evening, I like receiving company.
I think it's fun when people I like pop over. I don't like when my mother stops over unannounced, because it usually comes with some heavy "obligation" crap with it. But, aside from that, as long as we aren't having sex (thus no early morning or late evening drop ins) I don't mind.

Yes, I hate it! I like to clean before people come over. It would be very embarrassing if we were naked or doing it since we live in an apartment and people could probably hear from the door. I like having company...but after they call!

I hate that, too, for the exact same reason... and also because I'm a bit of a slob and my place is generally in a perpetual state of chaos... if my family comes to visit, I either have to clean up before they get ehre or they WILL start cleaning without my authorization.
Funny thing is, I know where everything is in my chaos, but as soon as my mum "tidies up", I lose sight of stuff, some times for months. And asking her where she put them is no use. She basically hides stuff out of sight, so she never remembers where she put things. -_-

I hate it. Not because I'm a slob or the place is a mess, but just because I feel it's rude. I, and my family, don't just stay at home all day. We like to go out, singularly or as a whole, and having people drop by unannounced puts our own plans on hold (we believe it would be rude to not keep them company for at least a small amount of time at home).
09/01/2011
Sure do but I don't really like visitors even if they call
09/01/2011
It really depends who it is lol
09/01/2011
Like I said before, it depends on who it is.
Good friends don't expect you to entertain them. I have a few friends who will make themselves at home while I finish laundry or the kitchen or sweeping or whatever I was doing. I think when you drop by unannounced, you shouldn't expect your "host" to wait on you. My good friends know where the fridge and the glasses are. And the liquor cabinet, if necessary.

I hate when people knock. Like everyone knows, if you're coming over send me a text (so I can get dressed) and then send me another when you're on your way to your door.

The sound of people knocking pisses me off. I dont know why it just does

We have been known to not go to the door if we don't get a phone call first. There are certain family members who always just stop by..very annoying, especially when we both have been at work all day and it is our "down time"
04/30/2012
As much as I hate it, I can't really say anything since it is technically my in-laws house.
I can't wait until we move into our own place. I'm never unlocking the doors!

I want a heads up so that I can make sure my house is presentable enough for company. That and if it's mealtime, I need to know if they will be eating with us.
04/30/2012
Yes! It's so annoying! Usually I just pretend to not be home if someone does that.
05/01/2012
I'm with Gold Lion. I often just don't answer the door if I'm not expecting anyone, especially if I'm home alone.
05/01/2012
No, I don't mind.
05/01/2012
nope even if it was three am I'd just be interested. i love company period
05/01/2012
I've had people who have done that. However, I've made it clear that they aren't welcome unless calling or texting in order to see if it's a good time first. We aren't a "Drop-in" friendly house.
