I don't mean a slight change in tint, I'm talking full color change. I'm wondering how common this is. When my husband was a young child, he was blond. By the time he was a pre-teen, he had flaming red hair. Now, at 30, his hair has a brownish tint. My oldest son was born with red hair, which turned white blond when he was about 6 months old. I remember a neighbor stopping me and saying, "What happened to his hair?!" About a year ago (at 7), it started turning darker, and now is turning back to red. My youngest son was born with red hair that is turning brown.
Has your (or a family member's) hair ever NATURALLY changed color?

My dad's was white blond as a child and it turned dark brown as an adult.

I was light blonde as a kid and my hair is medium brown now. I think it happens to some.

My dad's hair went from blonde to pure white in over a months time, then it all fell out. After this we forced him to go to the hospital and we found he had radiation posioning from his job. No shit. After treatment it all grew back. However, during that month I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the transformation. It was errie as hell.

My mother had blond hair as a child and there's pictures to prove it. When she turned 13, even her own mother and family members said that mom's hair started to change to brown. I'm seeing it now in my own hair. My hair was naturally very light blond, it's now light brown. I never dyed it. O_O.

When I was born my hair was jet black and stayed that way until I was about six months old and then it turned to a honey blonde and as I got older it turned into a mousy brown color and in the summer the tips turn blonde.

My partner had dirty blonde hair when we started dating 3 years ago and now his hair is a very dark brown.

When I was born I had blonde hair, now I have brown/auburn.

I was very blonde as a child, and my hair has gradually grown darker over the years to a medium brown. If I recall correctly, my mother was the same way, although her hair was already a much darker brown when she was the age I am now. Also, I'm already seeing my son's medium/dirty blonde hair grow in darker. Guess it runs in the family?

My son was born with very dark reddish brown hair and it has since changed to a light brown.

I've never had, or personally seen, anything that major of a change...but it's not uncommon. I've only had a slight change in color. Born with a headful of black hair (which fell out - don't count this as a change) and it grew in blonde, which has darkened as I've gotten older (something else that is completely natural).

My boyfriend's kiddo had blond hair that turned brown over the years.

I had dirty blonde hair as a kid, and now it is dark brown. I dye it red, though. My boyfriend had white blond hair as a kid, and it is now a dark blonde / light brown.

I was born very blonde. That lasted until I was about 8 and then it became dirty blonde. Now (I'm 20) it's auburn but most people just call me a redhead.

Yes, from blonde as a child, light brown as a teen, redish brown in my 30's now is salt&pepper. I hear that your diet has a big impact on the color.
11/01/2012
My hair was black when I was born and for months after. Now it's dark brown. When I get out in the sun in the summer, it lightens to a light brown, like highlight streaks.
11/01/2012
When my mother and sister were little girls, they were blonde, and then when they became adults, their hair became brunette. My sister's hair is really dark. I was really light blonde as a little girl too, and I'm the only one in my family who has kept the hair color, though the tint is darker than it used to be. I used to be like a naturally platinum blonde. Now I'm more of a honey blonde.
11/01/2012
My husband was also blond as a small child, by the time he was 8 his hair was brown, in high school it was dark brown almost black.

I see shades change in summer and winter. I have red and brown depending on the season
