I have super, super dry hands. This is a combination of obsessive washing, and the fact that I do a lot of drying things, such as working with clay and ceramics all day. My feet are also pretty bad. I have a medicated lotion from the dermatologist for my feet, but it's too greasy for me to use on my hands during the day.
I am constantly buying new lotions, trying to find one that works for me, and stashing them all over so they're always accessible.
I'd love to buy some lotions from EF. However, if possible, I'd love to hear from people who've tried it, who might have dry hands like mine, before I spend my money! These products all get high reviews, but has anyone used multiple of these prducts, I'd love to hear how they compare.

If anyone has used these before, I am looking for the product that is the best moisturizer, above all. It is really important to me that a moisturizer soothes my rough dry skin (all over, but hands in particular), and all other considerations are secondary!

Ohhh, I also forgot to ask, does anyone know the source of Copulandrone and Copulan-alike? What do they make it from? A Google search only brought up products containing them, and asking whether they "really work", not the source of the ingredient.

I prefer the active care hand and body lotion, it is very smooth.

The Complete Care is AMAZING. I have severely dry skin and it's phenomenal.
And actually, the Intimate Organics Foot Foreplay is awesome as a lotion for what you're looking for.

My Google-Fu says Copulandrone and Copulan-alike are "fragrances mostly made up from plant based musks." Don't know if it is true or not, but that is what I found.

I use all-natural stuff for my hands.... if you want a super-deep moisturizing treatment, soak your hands/feet in a mixture of milk, oatmeal, and honey while watching TV or something. Messy, but it'll leave your skin feeling silky.
I also use Desert Essence lotion - my current favorite is Vanilla Chai.

Active care hand and body lotion...

I've wanted to try Active care, but for now I'm using a product with nail strengthening agents. I wear latex gloves all day at work so my hands are dry and ruined at the end of the day, my nails are weak and peeling.

Dont forget to exfoliate

I've not really used any of these except the active and I didn't use it much, but liked it. I have really dry skin in general (I HATE it) but not so badly that I need a doctor for it.

You know, in all the years I've dealt with extremely dry skin, I've found one thing that helps it the most... water! Drinking water has cleared my facial dryness to the point where I don't even need moisturizer there anymore!
However, with the tanning and work that I do,the rest of my body is always very dry. I have a problem with it because when I'm using my fitness pole, the scraping and scrubbing of it against my body makes me dry all over again, but I cannot use any lotion or I will slip right off my pole! It's annoying, but I use other lotion after I'm done with the pole for the day.
I haven't tried the Simply Sensual stuff because the price, I don't know if it's worth it. I like Jergen's a lot. I use one of the newer Jergens. I don't remember the name, but it comes in a large bottle and it works really nicely for me. I also scrub with sugar or cornmeal while showering and then use Cher-Mere body oil or Skin Naturals lovely lemon grass scrub and polish. That stuff is fantastic!
I use coconut oil a lot, but don't always like to use much on my skin. I like to save! Lol. However, it's an amazing moisturizer! I would highly suggest trying it before you spend money on doctors. It might not be what you need, but I would definitely give it a shot first. It's amazing stuff. It doesn't leave my skin with a thick greasyness to it either. I use Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil from Tropical Traditions. They're the only company I've come to trust so far.

I would think a butter would be thicker and more moisturizing. But I would have to read the reviews for all of them just to make sure.
04/24/2012
the active care stuff rocks!

I have extremely dry skin from time to time and body butter just locks in the moisture for me.
04/24/2012
Not voting since I haven't used any of these products, but i would go for the body butter because it contains coconut oil and shea butter, and the products that have always worked best for me contain those two ingredients. Specifically Palmer's cocoa butter and Tree Hut shea body butter.
Though, I am a little puzzled as to why it contains caffeine. O.o;

Raigne- Sometimes caffeine is added into products for "skin tightening"

I use a lotion and then pure shea butter on my hands after I'm done at the ceramic studio. They say mud is good for your skin, but oh man, it really sucks the moisture out! I also get my hands rubbed raw from the grit in the clay as it's spinning on the wheel. Talk about exfoliating -- some of the clays I use are more like FLAYING.
I do love what the shea butter does, but it is pretty greasy, and tends to get everywhere, so I limit it to post-studio use, for the most part. I haven't tried pure coconut oil or pure cacao butter, which I've also had suggested to me. Do they have the same greasiness as the shea butter? I would definitely try them anyway, I pretty much try everything. Hahaha. I can never have enough moisturizing products, really!
I'm putting the Active and the Body Butter on my list of things to try, I definitely think they sound worthwhile! And I'll consider the Complete Care as well at some point, if those don't work for me. Heh.

Simply Sensual's line has worked out excellently for me in the past, and I would go with their body lotion.

I don't put on lotion. I dont like the feeling, but I heard good things about Simply sensual body lotion.

If you have really bad dry skin, I'd recommend Eucerin. It works like a charm It's pretty cheap at the drug stores.

Nivea creme is my magic balm for super dry skin, if you don't go with one of the mentioned products you can pick up a small tin cheaply at the pharmacy.

I'd try body butter

What are your favorite moisturizers around EF? Do you think any are better than the ones I found here, based primarily on reviews? Especially interested in hearing from fellow gardeners, ceramic artists, or other people who end up with rough, dry hands!

I live in the desert and I spend quite a number of hours using a chalk board in my lecture hall. From all the washing of my hands to remove the chalk dust..... my hands take a grand beating. Then to add to matters, I garden in the warmer weather and do a fair bit of stuff outdoors.
I find for my hands and my feet, I use cold pressed castor oil before I go to bed then put on a pair of socks not only on my hands but on my feet too. First I soak my feet, then massage the oil into them for best results. It took me about a week before I noticed a huge difference. And on my hands, I just use Qtica Night Repair cream during the day time if I need it or Burt's Bees Almond Butter Hand repair cream.
I know you asked for our favourite creams from EF but with the price of castor oil and how long it lasts plus the additional benefits of using it (think good-bye varicose viens, hello improved circulation and softer skin!!! You should see what it does for fine lines and wrinkles or skin imperfections or even scars) had me suggesting it.

I'd recommend pure shea butter. EF doesn't sell it but I'm sure you could purchase it through Ebay. It is the ultimate moisturizer! Just warm/soften it between your hands and spread it where ever you want. I use it on all over my body but especially on the soles of my feet.
It's best to use before going to sleep as it doesn't quite dry off quickly like regular moisturizers. It makes your skin super soft!

Roskat: I have some pure shea butter, it's AWESOME. It's a bit greasy (i.e. it leaves streaks on my smart phone's screen after I use it) but I apply it after a day at the ceramic studio, anyway. However, I don't like using it throughout the day (which I need) because of the greasiness. I do use it at night.
WomanChina: Thanks for the tip! I've never though of using castor oil! I will be buying some. Thanks for the brand suggestions as well.

I haven't tried any Eden carries yet but out of the ones I own right now I have a little sample of Nivea Extended Moisture lotion I got from Target that's really good. The only issue is the scent, it's fairly strong and not something that everyone would like.
I also have a bottle of cocoa butter lotion I got at Dollar Tree that's pretty decent and the scent on that one is mild (and smells sort of like chocolate/vanilla! :3 ).
On a side note though, I do the same thing (stashing lotion everywhere) a lot of the time...I can't stand it if my hands get too dry. @_@
