Soap. I used to use sanitizer all the time. It left my hands cracked and bleeding. Plus I hear that all the anti bacterial stuff makes the germs more resistant, so I avoid using it now.

When I'm out and about and can't get to a sink when I need to get my hands clean, I use sanitizer. At home, I go for the classic soap and water. I tend to use them both about the same.

I prefer soap, but will use my natural hand sanitizer spray when out, or when the only soap is antibacterial (which is really bad for you.)

Soap - I have liquid antibacterial soap next to every sink in the house, and I wash my hands gazillion times a day. I also have hand sanitizer in my handbag, and I will use them whenever necessary.

I use organic hand soap (Dr. Bronner's) when I'm at home. I don't believe in using hand sanitizer. If your hands are dirty, wash them. Antibacterial hand soaps aren't necessary and overwashing your hands can, and will, lead to eczema/dermatitis.

I really don't trust that sanitizer has the ability to kill germs and clean as well as good ol' hot water and soap. Although it's true that the triclosan in most "antibacterial" soaps doesn't actually affect like people are made to believe. Either way, whatever. I just feel better with soap and hot water. I do okay with hand sanitizer as long as I can rinse with hot water too. It will suffice, but if I have a choice, I'll go with hot water and soap.

I only use hand sanitizer if I'm out and don't have soap and water available to me. I have a little bottle I keep in my purse but that tiny bottle can last over a year. I prefer good old soap and water.
