Are you buying a gun now, simply because you fear you will not be able to buy it later? Is this a first gun or one of many? It seems worry about a ban has put many, many more firearms and high capacity magazines into circulation then would have been out there, otherwise. Are you someone who has decided that you must get one before they are banned or limited?
Gun sales are way up with possible bans coming. Are you someone buying guns now?

I would have liked to get one but go about the right way and do some shooting at the range for a bit before I purchased one. I think it is going to be harder later on to get one if need be.

Yes, and I very well may move to a different state if my own goes as wacky as NY just did.

I don't have any guns and am not interested in buying one. Something about them just scares me I guess.

Already own them.

already own alot of them. I have a few on my wish list I have not purchased yet, but it might be too late with everyone running out to buy them. The prices are way too much right now, and no one has any in stock.
Ronlee, I will do the same if my state makes the same mistakes as NY just did. If I lived in NY, I would be super pissed right now that the state passed more control laws just before midnight without the people having a say.
Firekitten, do you know how many gun control laws are on the books now? You say you are in favor of some form of gun control. You might want to research how many laws are in effect right now. It will surprise you.

I believe strongly in gun rights and would buy my own if not for the fact that I suffer from depression which isn't well controlled. I'm afraid on a bad day, it would be all too easy..with a loaded gun in the house..

Breaking news: NY was so quick to ram their gun control law down the throats of the citizens of their state, that they forgot to make cops exempt from the magazine capacity law. Cops normally carry a gun with a capacity of 15 rounds, now they are stuck with 5 rounds since 7 round magazines are not something that manufacturers make.

We do not currently have guns, but we have considered it.

No, I'm not going to buy any guns. I used to have a pistol and a shotgun. Never felt safer for having them and ultimately they were more of a hazard/liability than anything else so I sold them. I have combat knives and swords for defense. Thinking of getting some bear spray and/or a taser, perhaps...
I think NY needs to fix the law so cops can have their 15 round mags back. Otherwise, I'm in favor of stronger laws. IMO, no one should be able to buy a gun without a background check. And regular citizens don't need high-capacity magazines. Real life is not a game of Halo!

I own a gun now and as soon as I have the money I will be buying another. As a single female its a safety thing fro me, plus I enjoy going to the range and imroving my abilities. Its better than talk therapy and cheaper too.
