Being a woman, I'm curious how many men out here "yell out" to women I. Passing when they catch your eye or you find them attractive.
What kind of a response are you hoping to achieve?
As women, do you find yourself on the receiving end of these "screams" of appreciation? What are your thoughts, feelings, likes/dislikes?
Getting vs Giving Cat Calls/Hallas

Being a woman, do you find yourself the focus of other men, where they may holler out their voice of approval when they see you passing by?
What ate your thoughts, feelings, likes/dislikes regarding this?
Do YOU yell out to men that you find d attractive?

I don't yell out to men, but I would like to see how they handle it.

I've never before yelled out or "cat called" anyone nor have I had that happen to me. Well, unless it was a friend who was just trying to embarrass me lol

I don't really have the issue of cat calls, I am normally with my boyfriend when I go out. But I know myself, I am not a huge fan and am too shy for the "loud" attention

Ha!!! No, never give them lol. Only if I'm at a male review (which I never go to lol). That would be the only time you would find me acting like that though. And we're talking, it would have to be some serious, down right, sexy as sin moves like Channing Tatum in Magic Mike XXL .

I personally don't like men yelling out at me. It's awkward and uncomfortable.

Eh, I think it's childish, and it's not really the kind of attention that would get me hot.

I haaaate it! When I was 16 I used to walk everywhere, and there's a little shopping center about a mile and a half from my house. Every time I went outside I would be catcalled, whistled at, or honked at. I even had a couple of cars follow me. Very scary stuff and it was not just harmless! I drive everywhere now.

Ummmm, YES! LOL Channing Tatum, working his skills all over a big screen, I was there with a bunch of panty wet women lol. There were only 3 guys in the place. You might stick out I enjoyed it. It had some funny parts. It also had some FANTASTIC drool worthy moves.

I just got cat called yesterday! It was a man working on the sidewalk and he said "Ay yay yay, mamacita!" as I walked by. I smirked. I didn't find it too offensive because he didn't say anything overtly sexual or graphic. I found it funny too because I was wearing my work clothes, slacks and a short sleeve blouse, and flats. Nothing "sexy".

Maybe a little flattered but like I said only because the context was not obscene. I would be offended if someone had said something of a more graphic or sexual nature.

Today, I had my 15 yr old daughter in the car and we were at the mall getting ready to leave. We're turning stopped at a stop sign to turn right while a car of younger guys (probably 19-22) are turning toward us. Im not paying any attention at all but she is. She starts flipping out, shouting, "Oh, no they didn't...that's my MOM, eyes on the road! That is not OK!" I am cracking up laughing and asking her what just happened. She says, "Mom, that guy just about broke his neck staring at you!!! It was so inappropriate!". I'm still laughing and asked if she's sure he was staring. She said, "ummm, when your face looks like this that is staring. I'm surprised he didn't wreck the car". Lol.
It looks like she's a bit overprotective and not used to seeing guys be so obvious. She may be a little sheltered lol

Depending on the location of the cat-calling, sometimes I find it a bit threatening. If I am alone and it is nighttime, any stranger who yells out to me is going to scare me. Who knows if they will follow me or what they might do. I have had cat-callers follow me before and it just feels like a threat. I am not completely opposed to the practice of cat-calling, but I definitely object to the people who take offense or get defense by insulting you if you don't reply.

Being a woman, I'm curious, how many men out here are guilty of the infamous "cat call" to women when one catches your eye. What was it that first grabbed your attention enough to yell out to her? And, what reaction were you hoping to achieve
I've noticed when my windows are down in the car, my blonde hair is blowing, that is when men start yelling out their windows & pointing lol. Theirsy random observation.

I usually just give a smile. And if the person frowns or looks away, know not to do it again. Disrespectful and rude to give unwanted attention.

I have always frowned upon that. Not only that, but if you are a girl who likes being cat called... we are done right away. Not my kind of girl.

I have a sister and if I ever found out that she had been cat called (I'm almost sure she has), I'd want to beat some ass. I find it highly disrespectful. I wasn't raised to behave like that.
If I'm lucky enough to walk by a beautiful woman, then I just "notice" her out of the corner of my eye and continue doing whatever I'm doing. Sometimes I let that moment linger for a second or two, but, there is no need to make a scene.
If I were cat called, I don't really know what I would do to be honest.

I do not engage in this behavior as I find it disturbing. People are not objects to be ogled and shouted at for one's own gain. Rarely will I let my gaze linger on a person except in an environment where that is invited.
06/28/2015
It is very awkward and uncomfortable, to say the least. It recently started happening a lot while I'm driving with the windows all down. I don't know if it's the long blonde hair that grabs attention when its flying all over the place or what!!! But it's kind if crazy lol.
Inquisitor, if my husband knew, he would for sure want to beat some ass lol. It is quite disrespectful, in my opinion.

I'm naturally reserved so not something I could do even if I thought it was appropriate, which I don't. I definitely gained more awareness from dating women who are active feminists and would now consider myself a feminist too. But I have begun to realize the apparent social issues that stem from the fact that women are almost trained from an early age that their value by society is based on the way they look vs what they can do/how smart they are. I now consciously keep myself from complementing anyone on how they look. This is one factor discussed in why there is such a gender gap in the STEM fields related to how students value themselves in their pursuit of scholarly endeavors.
I always valued people by how well they could think and what they enjoyed doing for hobbies; however, it's odd when you recognize behaviors that you were raised were proper things to do might be unwanted attention or devaluing someone for who they are in lieu of valuing them for how they look.
I struggle now on what to do when I recognize someone got a haircut, do I notice or ignore it?
