Getting ready to move.

Contributor: chikisses chikisses
So we are planning on moving in a little over a month. We are going to be moving from Tennesseee to North Carolina. I have never moved out of state before and am nervous but I'm more worried about having things packed and prepared. When is it to soon to start packing? I feel like there is so much to do but that's only the things I can think of. I'm sure there's alot that I will I will forget. I know I have to transfer the kids schools, pack , load and ??? If any of y'all have made a big move before any input you can give me would be nice.. I'm so so nervous .

We're going to be doing the same in about two years and I'm already nervous.

I'd say it's never too soon to start packing. At least the things you don't use often. The more ready you are, the less stress you'll be under right before the move.

Pack the stuff you can live without for awhile, pictures, knic knacks, extra clothes, movies/cd's, small appliances you don't use daily, kitchen stuff (you can eat on paperplates the last few weeks), extra linens, etc. Keep your important papers til last, and then, keep them with you, not packed with everything else.

It's never too early to start packing the non essential items and then as the days get closer start packing the other things.

Good luck. Moving sucks. Definitely don't do it at the last minute like I always have.
