It's that time of year! In more northern areas, gardens are just starting, while in the south, they're well underway.
Do you garden, indoors or out? Edibles, ornamentals, or a combination? What are you planting this year?
In Oregon where I live, the early stuff is in the ground -- I've planted my radishes, lettuce, peas, carrots, and some flowers. We're still a little early for some of the later veggies. I also grow carnivorous plants -- it's a big hobby of mine -- and in March I did all the replanting and trimming of my outdoor temperate pitcher plants and Venus flytraps.
This year I'm planting dragon carrots (they're purple!), dragon radishes, and dragon's tongue beans. Notice a theme? Haha. I'm also planting several varieties of snap peas (I loooove peas fresh from the garden), cucumbers, tomatoes (probably Champion II, I find they produce really well for me), hot peppers (my pet parrot loves them, though I don't!), a couple other bean varieties, and green bell peppers. I'll also plant some annual herbs like basil.
In terms of perennial herbs, I have thyme, oregano, lavender, rosemary, sage, and some I'm forgetting, I'm sure. My strawberries are also starting to send out lovely leaves -- I know some people in the south are already getting berries!
