So I follow my hometown's Patch page. There's this uproar because last year, the town only picked up garbage once a week, not twice as it's always been. In my current town, garbage removal is not done thru the town but a service and it's weekly. I MAYBE have 2 bags in there a week. And I have a kid in diapers (granted, he goes to daycare). But like, do you really need twice weekly garbage removal? Can't you see this as a reason to look at how much waste you produce and what you do with it?

What does your town/garbage service do and how do you like it?

I don't live in city limits, but theirs is once a week. Our garbage collector comes once a week as well.

We're in an unincorporated area. They pick up our garbage and recycling once a week. It works fine for our family of four, and worked fine when we were a family of 5. (Oldest child moved out.)

We don't produce so much waste that they need to come more often than that. Our recycling bin is over overflowing, but we pile it up.

We have it once a week here. But we also have a dump that we can take it too. It is open 4 days a week.

We have it twice a week, but one of those days is also for yard waste, and the other is also for recycling. It made sense (at least it makes sense to me) to also have trash picked up at the same time.

We have once a week, and we have alot some weeks, but it is never too much of a problem. Recycling is picked up at the same time.

Once a week. There is no recycling program here. It went out of business last year.

We only have it once a week, meaning the garbage cans up and down the street are filled to overflowing.

I have never lived anywhere where it was more than once a week. Honestly, I never heard of anyone having it twice a week. Must be nice!

It was once a week where I used to live, but my last couple of apartments have had valet trash where they pick it up outside our door every day but Fri/Sat.

Where I live they have the dump trucks once a week and on Fridays only.
