We are a family of both - one hairless kiddo right now (hoping to add another soon) and 5 furry ones, and 6 of the scaled, water dwelling kind. I've noticed most of our friends tend to lean one way or the other more often than having a house full of both - what about you?

I have two dogs, and can't have kids, which is why I voted other.
I want kids, would really love to have some, but can't. So, I have had to try to accept that and change my want and need into understanding that we can't always have what we want.
It's all good, I have a wonderful husband and my puppy boy (yes, I am that sad) is the light of my life.

I have both. A son, 2 dogs, and a cat. The dogs came first, then the son, then the cat.

I only have pets, but would like kids one day.

i have a pet but i want kids

We had a dog when the kids were growing up. When that dog passed away, we did not and do not want another pet.

We have a house full of both most of the time -- and love it! My cats and weiner dog and hamster have been like my children for years.

We have two dogs but hope to one have children as well

I tend to have fur babies (just my baby brother right now though, but he's a good dog), but real kids are a part of my plan for my life.
I know I want to have at least two though, so they'll always at least have each other to play with if they wind up not being popular at school.

We have our daughter, 2 cats, 3 dogs, 6 fish (not sure what kind, not my "thing"). We will probably scale down as the animals live out their natural lives, though maybe 2 dogs and a cat in the future!
03/14/2013
I have no interest in having either.

Our kids are grown--so we now have furry kids!!

We did have fish, gerbils and a hamster once upon a time along with our cats and our one child but sadly the first three mentioned have since passed away.

We have both.
Fur kids: 6 cats, 1 dog, 1 hamster, plus two Betta fish, a couple of tetras, a red-tailed boa constrictor, and a tortoise.
Real kids: 6 year old son, 8 year old daughter

I have a heart condition that I don't want to pass on to children. I was going to adopt, but the more I think about it, the less I want kids. I'm young though, so maybe that will change.

I'm at a point in my life in which I'll take both. I've always had furry ones, though - the ex and I used to freak people out at the store by calling dog and cat food "baby food".
When C and I marry, we'll have his cat and then look into reversing my tubal so we can have a child.
(Yes, hell has frozen over ... Chili wants a baby.)

18 rats, 4 mice, a tank filled with snails, & no desire for kids whatsoever

My husband and I don't intend to have kids, but we have our kitty babies and we are plenty happy

I have kids and one fish. I would like to have a cat or dog but with paying to keep them a month in a apartment is too much plus keeping up with food and everything else for it. I tried it once already where I was and I had to give the puppy I had away. It was bad enough it was young and chewing on the baby's cups and pacifiers and stuff as well.

I have a daughter but really want a dog!
