Free toys!

Contributor: DreamWolf DreamWolf
I have noticed that lately I tend to feel I would prefer to get kink items with the free assignments, though before my "philosophy" was that the more vibes I get the more I will have handy for the future when W/we will live remotely, not being able to get toys online anymore... (Though hopefully that will never happen, but I guess you have heard about the news of the possible extremely weird future of the internet...)

What do you tend to get with your free monthly assignments? (I am not mentioning the manufacturer sponsored ones as there is pretty much nothing in there mostly, at least for a very long time so far...)

I've never been given a free monthly assignment. Perhaps because I'm new to reviewing? What is it, exactly?

I haven't heard this news at all. I did a search on google and didn't seem to come up with anything either. Can you link me to a news article?

She's referring to the assigned reviews program. If you're signed up as a reviewer, you can receive one free item per 30 day period, as long as it falls under the price limit for your ranking. There are some other guidelines involved-go to the "review program" link under the Account button to read the details.

In response to the OP, I've reviewed two assignments so far: a silicone lube (offered, not requested by me) and a beautiful lingerie piece. I've already got my eye on another lingerie for next month.

You go to your account and then to the Review link...

There you go to Product Search, and there you can look for free and buyout assignments...

The buyout assignments can be done as often as you wish to live with it, meaning a 30% discount on whatever you pick, in return for a review of yours about it... You have to have a review of the last one before you can apply for another one...

The free assignment has two sorts, the EF sponsored products are by your rank deciding how much can be the maximum price of toy... You have to write a review about those items too, and can only apply for the next one exactly a month later, if your review about the previous free toy is up already...
The manufacturer sponsored free toys can be obtained after a review is up about the last one, so there is no monthly limit, you can get them as often as you wish, as soon as your last review is up...
But you can't just get all the listed items for free, only what have no more than three reviews about them... I submitted a support ticket with the advice that they could work on that part if they wish to, so one wouldn't have to manually check out what has max. 3 reviews, and what has more, not available for free assignment...

All in all, for reviewing stuff you get free toys... Sounds wonderful huh?

It varies.
Two of my free review assignments have been vibrators. My third free review is a babydoll, though. I don't have any one type of item that I gravitate towards -- I just go for what I think I'll like, and what I think I'll be able to write a quality review for.

I'm sorry, I'm still confused. You said that we wouldn't get free toys via the internet, due to "the weird future of the internet." I don't understand what you're talking about and I haven't heard anything about that.

And the review program has always limited toys to three reviews, at least, as long as I've been here (which is about a year). That's not really news, if for some, that's what you're referring to.

Thanks So if a toy has 3 reviews or less, it's available as an assignment? Or less than three reviews?

Once you do find a toy, how exactly do you go about requesting it as a free assignment?

So far, my monthly review items have mostly been lingerie, as Eden has mostly either gotten in lingerie or body products lately as new products. Since I often react badly to fragrances, I stick with lingerie to be safe.

First you have to become an advanced reviewer to request free toys. You can do this one of two ways - going up before the community for a vote once you have two or more reviews - or going through the mentor program.

You can find out more about the mentor program along with a list of mentors here.

You can find out more about the review program here.

I prefer the mentor program because I personally think folks learn to write better reviews and get higher votes which means more free toys - which you'll find out more about the limits of toys if you go to that page about the review program and see the limits, etc.

Haven't heard the news about the future of the internet - but am not overly worried about it. I remember back when we were all scared about 2000 because the computers would all fail and we'd be without electricity and the power grids would go down, etc. etc. etc.

Never happened.

So I don't listen or pay attention to a lot of that "end of the world" stuff now.

Ah, thanks! I was confused at first. It makes sense now that I know it's only available to advanced reviewers. I have a mentor already.

I have to agree with 'AileFatale'. I've bought my own toys and have or will write about them! I have more interest in writing on the more elegant products that are valued over $60. The LELO or ANEROS products would be my interest now!

I think the internet rumors are just that, rumors! Congress back off!

I feel the same way. Most of the toys I am interested in are rather expensive and I would much rather just purchase and review one of them. I guess that's what buyout assignments are for.

Hmm, I tend to prefer sex toys but I usually request something interesting. I have my gift cards and points for my highly wanted items, but the monthly review I feel I do more for the community.

So, you can read about the assignments if something isn't clear in my comment, and I meant that probably you know the news about the internet too, that it would be "rebuilt", restricted and controlled in the future... So I try to get as many toys as possible before such a thing happens, cause one doesn't know what websites will be allowed... ^^

Yes, you can request a free toy if it has 0, 1, 2 or 3 reviews!

To request it first you go to the Review section in your account, then to the product search...

When you have picked a product, with max. 3 reviews, you add it into your Assignment cart, then go to the Assignment cart, and there you can choose if you want to request the product for free if possible or for buyout assignment...

If you need even more detailed info dare to ask about it!

Go for it hun, reviewing is really entertaining, not to mention it enhances and trains your communication and writing skills, and informs others in ways other reviews don't maybe!

Thank you for adding this dear, I forgot about it in my big hurry!

I agree, I started with the Mentor program right away too, to tell the truth I did it to earn more points first, but indeed one wants to write as excellent reviews as possible, and the Mentors mean an amazing help!

I always though that it would mean minor things in my case, as I already have quite the knowledge about grammar, writing styles and eagerness for perfection, but my Mentors pointed out things I would have never realized without them!

Definitely go for it folks!!!

There you go! My planned way of doing it is that I buy the most expensive desired toy first (to save the most of money), then go lower and lower... Because why to bother with it in the case of items for 10 and 20 bucks, and stuff like that... ^^
