Mice, i don't know why but they freak me out
Featured by EdenFantasys
What freaks you out most, if you find it in your kitchen when you turn on the lights in the morning?

None of it would freak me out, however, I'd be really confused by cockroaches, because we don't have them where I live.
09/14/2011
Eugh a cockroach or a spider, for sure. We don't have mice because we have a very efficient cat. Efficient to the point that she brought home a rat from a nearby restaurant one time. Yuck!

I hate roaches...they eeek me out

I am terrified of raccoons....

The last five mornings, upon turning on my kitchen light at five AM, I have been greeted by a single, BIG red ant running around the floor and a single BIG spider on the wall. Sorry gentle souls, but I dispatched them to their heavenly reward with my shoe, each time. The next morning...same two types of bugs. It is SO darn odd. A trail of ants can be found. A single ant...what does one do?
So...what freaks YOU out if you waked up and find an uninvited guest in your kitchen? Feel welcome to offer suggestions to help me or others, if they do.
P.S. Ant traps are NOT an option (on the floor), since I have a dog.
Thanks. less

I hate finding dirty dishes left over from the night before. I have to have my kitchen clean. So I dont get ants or other pest's
09/17/2011
We don't get any real nasties inside cause we have a pest Contro. But a mouse or a hairy spider would freak the shit out of me!
09/17/2011
EVERYTHING!
09/17/2011
All of those scare the crap out of me. Plus scorpians! I have seen enough of those to last a lifetime..ugh..creeps me out instantly and I run! ;D

A person, corpse, bear, tiger, gorilla or alien would definitely be the scariest things to find.
As for something that actually does greet me in my kitchen - toads. Tiny little toads. My entire neighborhood is infested with them in the Spring. We live 1/2 block from a wildlife area. I still haven't figured out how they get into the house.

I hate all of them! I don't have to worry about any of them though, especially mice because my cats would take care of that right away.

Ants and Roaches gross me out soooooo bad! Uuugh!
Although the morning I got up and my Mom was cleaning my kitchen freaked me out pretty bad too.

Something about cockroaches are awful. Spiders just make me want to piss my panties. But one thing that freaked me out was when I woke up one morning and there were (don't ask how they got in) but there were raccoons inside my kitchen eating all of our bread. It was terrifying!

Thanks. That is exactly what I am doing. Didn't see where they came from...not a trial, but am spraying all the baseboards and outside. None seen last two days. That is good.

There are small ones and big ones, and I hate them all. I've had them fall on me before, and just typing this is making my stomach churn and giving me the shudders.
I've tried to throw shoes on them, but normally I just scream at my dad and partner to get it. One time, I even told a six year old boy to kill it for me. In that home, there are no pets, so sprays and traps are fine.
About your ant problem- I have two cats, and we have ants in the kitchen. I got a spray, moved the cats over into the bedroom and removed open food and animal food out of the area, blocked off the kitchen, and sprayed all the small holes and area I saw them coming from. We also sprayed along the trails outside around the door and under the windows Hope this helps! less

Spiders totally suck...nothing worse than running through a web and/or having them in your house.

Sure there is - having them crawling on your skin under your clothes. This happened to me once.

Spiders are the only bugs I cant stand. When I see one I freak out and get mad and all panicky. I hate them, especially in my room.
09/20/2011
Spiders and cockroaches, but I hate cockroaches more!Creepy
09/20/2011
Spiders really freak me out. I see one and I nearly have a panic attack and die. They do have these things that you plug into the wall that emit a sound that is a frequency that people can not hear but it is supposed to keep bugs, spider, rodents, etc. out of your home. I haven't tried one out but I heard the work.
09/20/2011
Any of the above are unwelcome and are dispatched promptly! The cats keep the house fairly free of flying bugs (they love catching them), and the dog gets the faster moving flyers (bees are her favorite). If the "more than 6-leggers" are out of my reach, I turn a bottle of canned air (for computers) upside down and freeze them before I squash them! I also use hairspray...but I don't have any in aerosol form...boy do they run when chasing them with the pump sprayer!

roaches would freak me out, Ive never seen mice but I think I would pass out if I did.
09/20/2011
People I don't know, large dangerous wildlife, recently deceased corpses, reanimated corpses, pretty much any vampire.
Although I think the worst thing I've found in my kitchen as of yet is ants. I'll have to get some Terro for next year.

Ha! I'm not the only person who uses hairspray to kill spiders! (I wonder if they're on to us...) I so HATE spiders in my home! I am actually quite ok with them in nature. They don't freak me out or give me the willies when I see them outside. But if they're in MY home, they will not live to see theirs again.

There is this stuff called Terro. It's nothing more than boric acid in a syrup base. You put it on little pieces of cardboard about the size of a quarter or a dime and the ants bring it home to the nest and it kills the queen and that's it. I put it on cardboard on the counter tops. It takes 2 to 3 days to kill all the ants.
A dog would have to eat a couple of bottles of it for it to harm him, so it's pretty safe. One of my babies actually came crawling into the room once with a boric acid trap IN her mouth. I called Poison Control and they said it wouldn't hurt her. Boric acid is the stuff you use to wash clothes with, it's not all that toxic to people, but it works well for ants.
We use Terro several times during the summer.
For the spiders, I spray them with cheap hairspray, it freezes them, and then they die. I HATE spiders with a passion. Hairspray also works when a wasp or bee is flying around your house. It freezes their wings, so you can mash 'um when they fall to the floor. BLGUGHGHGHHGGH I hate bugs. less

Ants are annoying and easy to take care of so... I would just be pissed to see them, not freaked out.
I have yet to have cockroaches or mice in my home but here's hoping that I never do!

roaches. dirty mfs

I cannot stand spiders! We just moved to DE and have seen: cave crickets(sprickets) in basement and yard, Orb spinners in yard, Black widow in yard and Brown Recluse in basement.
