I have started a new business, am liquidating inventory from another person's business that closed last year, still running my vintage bike restoration and have a full-time bartending job (for fun).

I have had to prioritize my life and just have a difficult time being on this site after my husband was killed earlier this year. It is just too hard to be here without him most of the time....too many memories. less

Forum is at an all time low since mid Oct. Though it dropped tremendously when EF changed the points/reward program it was still wiggling along. EF added Natayla to revive the review program, but now that seems to have bitten the dust.

Seems some members do check in every now and then though.
So what have you been doing with the time you are not on EF ? Do you go to other sites or occupy your time with another hobby ? less

Hello old "EF Friends"! The fact is, this forum site just isn't what it was in any way. Most of the active contributors are gone and there were too many nasty "trolls" responding with rude attacks if anyone said anything that they didn't feel fit with their narrow world view, or dared comment on something that they, of course, were the sole arbiter of expertise in. Well, that isn't the Forum we joined so long ago, where all kinds of people enjoyed an open discourse and could speak freely about any topic imaginable. This was a really, really fun place to spend the afternoon, and we used to do it as a couple. When it got rude and nasty, my hubby bowed out and suggested I do to. I was frustrated and "walking on eggshells" about any posting I made. That was zero fun, it was some strange "chore" is still felt obliged to do. Finally, I saw the light. He was right, this was a huge waste of my time, since almost no posts were even new. It was like spending your vacation in an abandoned ghost town. Sorry....doing just about anything is better then that.
We have always had plenty to do to fill our days. We do Karate and Dance together twice a week. When we play on the computer, we do so now mostly on Facebook, or on a couple of "work related" blog sites, and only check in here once in a while. We even both just finished our MBA for Professionals degrees. Yahoo.
Thankfully, when we "pop in" (Actually, mostly when I pop in, as Mr. Bignuf is 99% done with this), we still see a few of the old timers, like you, still here.
Rather then wondering what we are doing when we are not here, the bigger question...the one we wonder, is why folks like you ARE still here so much?
Anyway, wishing everyone here well. Maybe this will, one day, rise from the ashes, but more then likely, this was a bright comet, flying through our lives, then dimming again as it blows away into cold deep space. It was a moment in time now gone. less

I understand about the personal shots. I've seen them and also experienced some. I guess I'm hoping new people that know little about the past will use the forum for gathering and friendship. Forum friendship. If nobody tries, then nothing will happen. I visited another site, but found it to be over the top. Little too extreme for me.

It would be nice if this somehow came back to life, minus the haters and trolls, but sadly, I suspect it won't. I will keep checking in and IF...big "IF", I see more traffic here, I may participate again, and more often, and maybe even get hubby back with me, but for now, we have "moved on". less

I wish you much luck with your business and success in finding personal happiness after your loss. I cannot imagine what you have gone through, but I am proud of you to at least not have retreated from life, but expanding your horizons in the real world. Blog sites like this can be fun, but they do take time away from the "real world" we need to stay active with.

Since the last time I've been on (which has been a while) I've been pregnant and delivered my daughter 14 weeks early, so now my time is taken up by not only calling her NICU to check on her, going to visit her, but I managed to get an infection in the c-section incision, so I'm having to deal with a daily cleaning and packing, including random times when my husband changes the dressing (not the packing, but he has to learn how to do that). It's been busy and hellish, I'm emotional and hurting from not having her here and I still can't fatham why her placenta broke apart in the first place when she was a perfectly healthy baby and I was having a perfectly healthy pregnancy. I'm doing allright in terms of physical. But mentally I'm accepting that I had her the way I did and that there was nothing I could have done to stop what happened, and I'm also trying to talk myself out of the fact that it wasn't my fault (I keep blaming myself for her early birth), and I'm constantly crying because everything I see reminds me of her somehow. I should also add that I have to take time every 3 hours to pump in order to provide breastmilk to the NICU who gives it to my daughter via feeding tube.

I've also been reading the Flowers in the Attic series, watching A Haunting, getting back into walking, cleaning (it's been 2 weeks...), and baking again. And I'm online on other sites and writing. less

Thank you!The site was a fun hobby for me when I was married, but now it is a check in site and I have not been active much lately. I do not know if I will ever be as active as I used to be regarding the site and reviewing, but you never know. I now do not need to stay so busy with work and am learning to be happy and move forward...best wishes to the two of you and may this new year be kind and good for you! less

I miss a lot of the stuff that used to be here. All my reviews are null or discontinued so I am starting to order more. And am trying to get my point up so I can be a reviewer. I really like it here and will follow all the rules. Even though the Doc Johnson and a lot of people who used to come here were all time awesome. But now it's just quiet. I'll still try and be happy for Eden but I still kinda want to know what happened. less

Logged on this morning and saw today's post as of 10am pst and yesterday took an entire page ! Compared to early Jan's barely 1/4 of a page. Looks like the forum is showing signs of life. Also noticed many and some returning members. less

I just have a busier life. I picked up some more hours at work. My other reason is just lack of motivation. I have a couple of reviews that I could do but with the way things have been around here anyway, who knows when they would even get published? I'm still around though. less
