For the gamers on here, do you get the downloadable content (DLC) for your games? Or are you satisfied with the main content alone?

Fave arcade game?
Super street fighter 2
The Hunger Games
Who enjoyed the movie? Have you read the book? I was disappointed, but movies are rarely as good as books!
Game of Thrones Book vs. TV Series
What do you think of the TV adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire? The Game of Thrones TV series is staying pretty true to the book, though I wasn't...
'Rage-Quit' in Games
Have you ever gotten so mad at a video game that you just walked away? What happened?
Game of Thrones
So any one here watch the new HBO series game of thrones?

Ive mostly only got it free, or when I was given a PSN Card. Otherwise i'm not a hardcore gamer so no need for the extra content really.

I only grab DLC for (great) games when they have significant content (e.g. Fallout 3). Or if they are nearly free (e.g. Steam sales). I got rid of my consoles recently (rip-off, IMO) and plan to game solely on my PC for a long while (thanks Valve/Steam).

I think the people who get most of the DLC for most of their games, at release (and full price) must be socially-pressured to do so, and/or have some type of OCD.

Does this count for Rock Band 3?

I really really want the DLC to play as Catwoman in Arkham City but being I'm borrowing my brother's copy of the game, he already used the free code and I'm not about to break down and get 800 points so I can have her. I'm saving my little amount of points for any cool FFXIII-2 DLC.

I only get DLCs if they're free, and there's a number of reviews on them...wouldn't want them to ruin my otherwise working game or (even worse) messup some savegames.

I rarely get DLC.

I guess it depends on how good the game is and if its free.

I usually get the free ones even if I don't really care about it much, but I'll buy DLC for games I really like if I'm interested in the content.

Usually just get the free ones. I'm kinda cheap that way and I don't really have tons of time to play as it is. Not worth it in my opinion, although I have been tempted by some here and there.

Occasionally I'll buy DLC if I really like the game, but I mostly feel like it's a big scam to purposely leave content out of the game in order to charge through the nose for it later, and I refuse to reward them for that with my money.

Sometimes I will, it really depends on the game. Like for the call of duty zombies, I always download the DLC. My boyfriend ALWAYS download the DLC's to his games. He plays more then I do.

Mr is a gamer and he'll get them, definitely, if they're free.
But if he has to pay, he only gets the ones that offer him something that he cannot get or earn in-game that he absolutely wants/needs. New missions and maps are usually an allure for him to pay, but he often waits until IGN does a review before he shells out the money.
Sometimes, if he's got a back log of games he needs to play, he'll wait for a Game of the Year edition and just buy it with all the content in one-fell-swoop. Especially if he's not too impatient about playing it.

I only download free off of COD.

It depends on the game. I generally don't tend to, especially if they cost extra, but if there are good reviews of them, I will.

Very, true it is especially laughable when they claim they didn't even start a DLC until a game was gold certified and/or shipped only to have the DLC be found on disk by hackers ready to use.

It sometimes is also a nasty way to try and reduced used game sales, have a DLC be included via code with new copies buy charge an jacked-up price otherwise.

if the DLC is free, i will get it every time, if it isn't much money, and adds something new and worthwhile to the game, then i will usually get it. but if it is just a character skin, or something like that, then i wont.(well unless it was really cool and i had extra money at the time)

...and another downside to DLC I just discovered. If the authentication servers screw up they can actually lock you out of a game you paid for.
Example: EA serves are messed up right now and aren't properly authenticating Mass Effect 3 and hilariously screwed up too as it ask for an online pass even on PC where there is no such online pass, which it also calls a "Cerberus pass", (i.e. the nick name of the previous games online pass not this ones) and which it apparently believes costs $315,184. link
The result you can't play multiplayer or any single player that has the from ashes DLC installed (since it authenticates the DLC every time you start). Net Effect: I'm locked out of my game because I gave you more of my money to get your damn DLC. and EA wonders why it was recently voted worse company in America?
