Who wears flip flops? I just started wearing them again.

That's mostly what I wear in the summer. I hate having to go through the hassle of taking regular shoes on and off if we go to a friend's place, and unless I need the extra support cuz we're gonna be really active I'll take my flip flops everywhere.

I can't stand to wear my sneakers now, it is so hot n socks get itchy.
06/09/2011
I have fallen arches so almost never wear flip flops because they kill my feet. I wear sandals with a little more support because it is just too hot for anything else.

I prefer shoes. I can't really wear sandals half the time due to my work and just in general.

I like flip-flops for sitting outside, or walking around the house, but they're useless to me for anything that would require me to go farther than thirty feet from my front door. I won't even drive in them after I had one slip off and get tangled with the pedals while my car was moving . Luckily, I was able to pull right over and fix it, but I drove home barefoot and never made that mistake again.

I wear flip-flops. The straps are leather, of course.
06/09/2011
I like flip-flops but it's hard for me to wear them since I blister so easily.
06/09/2011
I'm more of a sandals guy, don't care much for toe-wedgies.

I used to wear them all summer long and even into fall, but I hurt my ankle and have to wear more supportive shoes now. Totally sucks to get 'old'. ;-)

i wear flip flops all the time. i wear them until it's too cold to wear them anymore. for me, that's when i think my toes are going to fall off.
06/09/2011
I like wearing them, but I have ankle issues, so they are not good for me. I'm ore of a Teva girl. I hate socks so I practically live in my tevas when I can.

I prefer sandels to flip flops... but I do have a few pairs so maybe Ill wear them more often. I hate the platic part that goes btwn your toes though. = (

I prefer sandals, I've never had a good time with flip flops. I now have a pair JUST for wearing down to the beach in summer when we visit.

I wear flip flops all the time. In fact, I'm not sure what I'll do when I move to Ohio and colder weather...I can't wear regular flats because they fall off my feet.

Depends on what I'm doing. I wear flip flops when I can, but sometimes I have to wear real shoes. But I have a lot of very nice, strappy real shoes too.

I LOVE flip flops! I just specially ordered a few pairs of DC & Roxy flip flops from Surffanatics.com.

Flip flops ALWAYS crack me up! We don't call them that over here.
I don't wear them - it's mostly lower class that wear them over here. I'm not going to go more into that cause they seem to be big in the US - just not a major footwear product here.

They are my summer go-to shoes!

I'm curious what they're called too. I've seen flip-flops here in the USA go for upwards of $70 - which is INSANE. Funny to think they're looked down upon on the other side of the globe.

We call them thongs here. And what you call thongs there are just g-strings here.

A lot of places over here will not accept thongs (flip flops) in their dress code. I have been to RSL's that won't allow you in if you're wearing them. And ya won't get in any restaurants with them! They are classed as bummy over here for a lot of people.
You can get the old cheapies and then there are more expensive ones, but even those are usually only around $30.
I think it's more guys who wear thongs here and it's the rougher kind who like wearing their stubby shorts and singlets....lol.

I don't like them, because the thing between the toes rubs the skin saw. I like sandals though.

I wear sneakers most of the year and sandals on weekends in the summer.
06/11/2011
Lol well that explains why you do not want to wear them. Thats so odd you can not get into a restaurant with them on. They are all price ranges here and people wear them everywhere.

It's certainly interesting learning the differences between countries.
Since writing reviews, I have learnt a number of langauge differences.

I hate flip flops. I hate the feeling of things between my toes, it hurts me. I also don't wear sandals.
My Man and I were making love in a meadow once, and when we were going back to the place where people were meeting and I got stung my a bee between my first and second toes! I had on a pair of really cute Candies sandals with wrapped up the leg ribbons. It hurt so much and I could barely walk. I have not really worn sandals since and that was when we were dating.
Once in a while, I put on a pair of my daughter's flip flops to get the mail, and I end up going back to the house in my bare feet, they hurt so much.

Shellz, years ago, what are now flip flops used to be called "thongs." But, that was (mumbles....20....30 years ago.) Weird, huh? You can get them now at the Dollar Store for a buck or two, or pay upwards of $50.00 for leather ones. There are also some that have a ring around the toe, but those are considered "hippy shoes" by a lot of people.

What the heck are "stubby shorts" and "singlets?" Singlets, in the USA used to be a sleeveless T Shirt worn by babies! But, they are just called "sleeveless T Shirts" now. I LOVE hearing different dialects of English. It's so interesting.
