First concert

Who was the first band or solo artist that you saw live and how old were you?

Believe it or not, but I've been to only two concerts. My first was an annual celebration in KC called "Freaker's Ball." I was 21 (Halloween '98). The one I went to featured Quiet Riot, Slaughter, and Warrant.

*giggle-snort*

In 1992, my junior high in Ft. Lauderdale won a radio contest to host a Marky Mark concert at our school (most people now know of him as actor Mark Wahlberg). It was in the cafetorium so it held only a third of the school at a time; we only ended up seeing about a half hour of show total. I will never forget at one point when he was about to do his infamous pants-dropping trick and he looked over at the principal. She gave him a LOOK and he decided not to do it.

For some reason they wouldn't let him sign body parts, despite the fact I had actual boobs compared to my classmates.

My first REAL concert (My friend took me to an "All that music and more" concert when I was in elementary school but I don't really consider it a real concert-was Eisley. Eisley has been my favorite band for years and years. They had come to Boston once but I wasn't able to go because I wasn't 21 yet. A few years ago they came to Boston so my boyfriend went down with me to see them. It was amazing! I've since gone to see them again in Boston and have seen Ingrid Michaelson in Maine!

New Kids On The Block! My mom worked for Disney and they were doing some concert/filming and she got my sister and me in! I was so so excited I thought it was the best thing ever!

My first real concert was Guns n Roses & Skid Row at the Hershey Park Stadium, June 11th 1991. It was AWESOME!

LOL ummm.... My first concert was Britney Spears and LFO (Unless Raffi counts from when I was like 5 lol).

I've been to a lot. Last was 311 and Offspring in Chicago last week.

Hmm, I've been to Warped Tour, when I was like, 18 I think. And then I saw Rise Against and My Chemical Romance at the AllState Arena a few years ago. Then went to another show at the same place Warped was at.

I don't get out much, I spend too much time working, lol

Judas Priest, Megadeath and Anthrax somewhere around 1989. I was 17 and had such a good time that I only remember Judas Priest.

AHH the good old days.

I saw Judas Priest in 1988 when Cinderella opened for them.

Well I've bought tickets for Deftones and My Chemical Romance and got sick both times and couldn't freaking go.

I went to Warped Tour in Atl in 2007 and met really cool people and bands, but I had to be taken to a hospital for heat exhaustion lol.

And we have a lame theme park here about 50 miles away called Wild Adventures and for a while REO Speedwagon, Styx and Journey played all the time. Yes, I went, and yes, it was badass. I LOVE JOURNEY AND I AM NOT ASHAMED.

The Backstreet Boys were there a few weeks ago.

That show with Rise Against I went to with my sister, and she got trampled during RA's act, and we left in the ambulance as MCR went on. I was so sad. But I did get to see them a few months later, and they're awesome.

They're one of my favorite bands now. They are simply amazing! Best Chicago band since the Smashing Pumpkins.

Oh I just love them. I think my favorite thing has been listening to them evolve musically through their career. I only got into them a few years ago, but I've been hooked ever since my ex played me their Journey cover, lol

If we're now counting shows we've seen since the first one, these are the ones off the top of my head: I've seen Social Distortion more times than I can count (I'm a little in love with Mike Ness), The Street Dogs, Gov't Mule, The Allman Brothers, Buckwheat Zydeco, the Radiators, Marcia Ball, The Dropkick Murphy's, Aerosmith a couple of times, Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard, Cinderella, Cheap Trick, Weird Al, Jason Mraz, Gavin De Graw, and the musical comedian Stephen Lynch. Oddly I'm not really an 80's fan but both my best friend and my ex-husband are which explains a lot of those shows... I've also seen Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi quite a few times each because I was born and raised in Jersey and I just end up at one or the other every summer.

I also traveled down to Memphis for a couple years in a row to the Beale Street Music Festival and the highlights of those shows (besides Social Distortion) was seeing The Black Crowes, Aretha Franklin, Buddy Guy (who walked into the crowd and played a guitar solo standing face to face with me), The Plain White T's, and Jack's Mannequin.

I have never seen Judas Priest live. I have never been one to get excited over the reunion tours. The first tour they did after I moved to the city was for Juggulator with Ripper Owens, but I felt it just wasn't the same.

I've only been to one in my entire life. It was a first date with my current boyfriend. We saw Mat Kearney/Keane in concert.

I was 12 and I went to see *N Sync at the (original) Texas Stadium. It was such a blast! A large group of friends and I went together, then did the whole sleepover thing. No one got a wink of sleep.

Wow, some great first concerts here. I really wish I had money to do a couple each year. For the record, my second and last concert was Ben Folds Five right before they broke up. I also had a ticket to go see Dogstar (Keanu Reeves' band) and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. My brother went instead. Oh, and I had a ticket to see Poison a few years ago, but my friends were unavailable to go with me and I didn't want to go alone, so I that was that. :-(

I saw that one! The Vanessa Carlton, 3EB and Goo Goo Dolls one. It wasn't my first one though, but I did like it

My first concert was Boys II Men and Montel Jordan I THINK. If it wasn't that then it was Blessed Union of Souls, but I am pretty sure that Boys II Men was the first one.

I haven't actually been to that many actually. Other than the ones I've already listed I've only also been to two Poison concerts and a Blink 182 and No Doubt concert. Oh and then a few punk shows scattered in there...but I don't remember the bands except for H2O

The first band I ever saw was the Bare Naked Ladies. And that was before they made it big, maybe around mid-late nineties.
