I have seen some people get really upset. I just see bad votes as a heads up that I need to go back and fix my review or be more detailed. What about you?
How does it make you feel when you get bad rankings on your reviews?

I ignore the votes, even when they're really low. I do not care anymore, if people have a real problem, they'll ask. And usually, the votes that are low on mine, I never get questions or any form of feedback from those individuals, so I just don't bother to even care!

With me, it depends on whether they're explained or not. If someone gives something lower than EU or U but gives an explanation, I'm really happy for a chance to learn how to make my review better.
If someone votes lower but doesn't leave an explanation, then I'll just shrug and assume that it's a new contributor who doesn't understand the system, or a point farmer, or a seasoned contributor with strict voting habits.
I only really notice votes on my newest one or two reviews, though. After a while I just go to the newest comment that needs a reply without really paying attention to the votes.

To be honest, I get extremely excited to see positive feedback on my reviews, because I put a lot of effort into them, even though I am still new to this community, and I haven't had any really negative feedback yet, but were I to, I probably would be hurt a little at first, because like I said I do put a lot of effort into it, but then take it as constructive criticism and try and figure out what I did wrong, and use that to improve future reviews.
If they don't explain then I may go to them and ask what is needed to improve the review. If they do, then I'll take that advice.

I've only done a few, but the reviews I've rushed and didn't spend enough time on predictably get the worst feedback. So far the negative feedback has been constructive.

It depends on who gives me the lower vote. If it's someone who is an experienced review writer, I will take it as constructive criticism that I need to be more detailed, or improve my skills, etc. I even go read their own personal reviews to see what kinds of things I might have forgotten or left out that needed to be in my review. If it's just a "drive by" vote (as I call them) I just ignore them.

The rankings don't really matter to me but I appreciate the feed back I have received on my reviews.

Depends how soon I notice it. I've gone back to older reviews and seen new votes that were SU or lower and let it go because there's not much I can do about it. If I see one on a newer review, I've been known to send a private message to ask politely why they voted the way they did. I try really hard to make sure that the message doesn't come across as anything resembling accusatory and I only send one. If I get a response, awesome. If not, it doesn't affect my day any.
I'll never ask what I could have done to make a review go from useful to EU. I did do it when I was starting out, but it just irks the hell out of me to see people make such a huge deal about the difference between the two.

Same, though I do sometimes wonder what it was that I left out that could have made the user give me that extra push. I know they're weighted almost the same, so I really try not to let it bother me.

I'll wonder the same thing even now to be honest lol. But I know that for some people it comes down to having pictures, or writing style and to me that's splitting hairs so I just let it go most of the time lol.

It upsets me, and when I feel I know them, I get insulted that they didn't tell me personally what they felt I could've added.

I am happy with an EU or U. I only got a SU once, and it was from a newer member who might have not quite understood the voting system. I didn't take it personally.

I got a somewhat useful from someone once and then they put "Great review!" on the comments, so I messaged them to ask them what I could have done better and never got a response. I wasn't rude or anything, just thought they might have seen something i left out....I guess I will never know!
I do take it kinda personal. I wish I could not care, but I spend alot of time on my reviews.

It depends on how others are voting. If I have a bunch of U/EU votes and one SU vote, I let it go. Not worth worrying over, but if it is a bunch of SU votes then I would rewrite the review or ask a trusted friend what they thought of it. The times I have ask folks why the voted the way they did, I never got an answer so I do not even bother anymore.

I get upset. I work really hard on my reviews. They usually take me 3 - 7 days to finish. I know they are not perfect, but it still hurts when I get low votes.

i disliked reviewing the DVDs i was sent and it shows.
but the toys? i loved writing my review on them and if they get bad reviews i feel bolstered to write better ones in the future.

If they leave a question or something similar, that's understandable, but I dislike when people choose low votes for no apparent reason.
08/30/2011
It bothers me a little.

It only bugs me if they dont explain why they gave me that low rating. Im still newer about alittle over a month so any feedback i get is helpful

I take it the same way I do crit on my writing in general. The first, base response is emotional turmoil- and I let that play out in private until my head clears from the emotions, then come in with logic to try and figure out the why.

It might have bothered me when I first started reviewing, but it doesn't bother me at all now. I came to realize that everyone is deserving of their opinion and not everyone is looking for the same information in a review. All I can do is give my best effort and hope the majority of readers appreciate it.

I sometimes wonder if people just vote as quickly as they can, not paying attention to the reviews at all? This has happened a lot to me as well. I had one review that I got like 30-something EU on and then one NUAA.
