Thought I'd share this. Check out this video from FCKH8.com and then pop over to their site and feel free to buy something from them if you like their message and their work! Money goes toward organizations that work on securing marriage rights for same sex couples. Or don't buy something, but at the very least laugh at this wonderful video.

Of course, one thing that bugs me about the video is the whole "same junk in their undies" thing. There are gay trans people that are non-op and have cisgender partners. In other words: there are gay people out there that don't have matching genitals. I promise. I know many such folks. My policy is you don't have to stomp on the rights of one group (transgender folks in this case) to fight for the rights of another (gay folks in this case.)

But yeah, besides that, it's a funny and really sassy video. I love the kids dropping f-bombs for their mums and dads Enjoy! Happy day, y'alls!

I loved it too. I know some people are freaking out about kids saying 'fuck' but damn, don't we have bigger things to worry about than kids saying a naughty word? I don't know. Kids standing up for family values and their right to live with their loving parents > Puritan policing of cuss words. At least in my view, certainly folks have the right to disagree!

Yep, I think it's more important that children know when it's not appropriate to curse. A child knowing a curse word isn't a huge issue to me, and if they're saying it for a reason such as this, I don't see how it's harming anyone!

I agree. I wasn't allowed to curse as a kid until I got older, 13 or 14, and my parents never let me get away with excessive cursing because they thought that over-use made you sound unimaginative. They encouraged me to creatively express frustration, with curses words peppered in lightly for added emphasis

Looooved it. And I totally appreciate your mention of trans people, especially non-ops.

Heheh well I do agree that not using curse words causes people to need to be more creative..and excessive curse words do show a lack of imagination. Personally my kids aren't really allowed to curse either, but I don't completely freak out if they do, I just tell them not to. And we're pretty lax about what we consider a curse to be lol

The video is friggin awesome. I love it!

I totally want this shirt.

I am the daughter of a lesbian. She married her partner in 2003 (when it became legal here in Canada) and she is happy. They are happy. Every once in a while someone comes back to parliament wanting to abolish it. It wont happen now that it has passed for so long though.

I love this! Best use of "profanity" I've ever seen—it's suppose to be "in your face" and make you pay attention.

The kids aren't being harmed by being allowed or encouraged to use those words in this setting. My daughter has no restrictions upon her to not use profanity, but she's quite clear on the fact that there are places and circumstances where people will take offense and she may get into trouble.

The "taboo" of using profanity as a way of being "rebellious" has pretty much been removed from the situation and therefore she has no interest at all in using it. In fact, she occasionally reminds me I could use it a little less.

I loved this video myself. Not a big fan of the hypocrisy that so often comes hand in hand with organised religion. I love how they pointed that out.

It's true but there are also a lot of religious folks that are awesome. Even if they don't "approve" or whatever, they are at the very least respectful and not hateful. The major Abrahamic religions teach love and tolerance, and true followers of these faiths understand that these ideas are at the core of their faith.

And Laurel, I am very on board with the whole removing the taboo thing. As a teen I didn't feel the need to curse constantly because I knew that I *could* and that knowledge made them somehow less dramatic and tempting, I suppose.
