Favorite Vegetable?

I think my favorite veggies are soybeans and broccoli and spinach. Do you have a preference for one color veggie over another?

I guess it depends on your definition. Tomatoes and peppers are technically fruits, but are treated as vegetables. If you look at them that way, they are easily my favorites. If you want to talk about true vegetables, I'd have to say Walla Walla onions.

What is it about CANNED green beans that makes them so yummy? It defies logic, but I'm with you there!

Also, I forgot red beets. Mmm.

For a fat girl, I'm dedicating WAY too much thought to this question.

Love: broccoli, zucchini, green beans, spinach, sweet potatoes, carrots, white potatoes, asparagus, fresh corn on the cob (although I am a little allergic to it, I can only eat a little once in a while) peas, cucumbers, pea pods, some squashes,

Hate: mushrooms (ug, slimy) bell peppers, (they give me a tummy ache) hot peppers (I don't like my food to hurt me) sauerkraut (gag) baby corn (it always tastes like mildew) okra (slimy)

Sorry to hear that the red peppers upset your stomach. Have you ever tried eating them without the skins? From what I've read, it is the skin that makes some people have bad reactions to it. So, if you burn off the skins, you may be able to start eating them.

Thanks, Vac. I have tried burning off the skins, and it still gives me a tummy ache with burping. (How feminine. )

My Man used to laugh at me, because I'd have the pepper on a carving fork, over the burner, moving it around to get the skin off. Although that method makes it a little better, a medium tummy ache is still bad.

I love vegetables and was raised to eat healthy, but my girlfriend hates vegetables. I've been sharing tips with my friends who have kids on how to hide vegetables from children, including my 25 year-old girl-child. I <3 my food processor.

Yes, it's dishonest, but she has a vitamin A deficiency from not eating various orange foods. I shave a little carrot into soups, etc. and she doesn't notice.
