Favorite Makeup Brushes?

I was just wondering if people here have certain brands they prefer of brushes/tools, and if so, what they are.

I've never owned MAC brushes, but from what I hear, there are so many comparable brands that it's not worth the money. Then again, others I know have said they'd never use non-MAC brushes because there is a noticeable difference in quality.

I use bdellium tools brushes, and I love them. Popular opinion has it that they're comparable to or slightly better than Sigma brushes, although if I had the opportunity, I'd try Sigma brushes to be sure. I used to buy cheap brushes because I really didn't believe there was a difference: as long as the powdery/goopy stuff gets from the container to my face, I'm good, right? Well, not so much. Turns out, it does matter--to a degree--the quality of brush.

Thoughts?

I got my MAC brushes on discount when I worked at Macy's, so I've never really used any others.

They're alright, but you can buy similar paintbrushes for less at an art store.

I only do makeup for events, so perhaps I don't notice the quality differences as much. My MAC brushes were suitable shapes, but they lost bristles and I wasn't particularly impressed more than any other brush.

Smashbox. Hands down my favorite brushes even though they cost a fortune. They're totally worth it. Except for my BE foundation - I use their brush for that.
