While I love all those desserts, with my accursed sweet tooth, nothing is like Christmas without German fruitcake and gingerbread.
I just realized that candy was one of the options, doh! Should have opted for that too. I love chocolate covered marzipan around this time of the year, too.

My mother used to make something called a "chocolate log" which was a lot more appetising than the name.
It was like a big chocolate swiss roll, filled with cream and rum, and decorated to look like the trunk of a tree.
