When u open up someone's discussions and polls, notice the grey heart under their avatar right beside the name... Click it to make someone ur favorite contributor!! (it turns GREEN when u do so)

The heart is beside the contributors name. Push it and it turns green. When you go to the forums, you can choose to see all posts by your favorites.

I have about 40 of them, I think some of them are not around anymore though, at least regularly. I admit I do not use that feature all the time though, only when I forget the title of a thread I am looking for or forget to select the orange heart for a thread.

I have not used it for contributors until just now. But I have used it for threads that I like to keep a tab on when the option too set a alert is not available.
