I've compiled a list of all the casual dining places I could think of to figure out where everybody likes to go! Why? Because I've seen so many of these for fast food, and none so far for these!!!

I consider Baja Fresh and Chipotle to be fast food, not casual dining. I absolutely won't go to some of the places listed. My pick for a chain would be Black Angus but I'm glad I can choose from these instead.

We actually visit a lot of hole-in-the-wall vegetarian places because most "popular" restaurants have very little we can eat.

The Baja here is huge, I guess I always looked at it as a casual place because there is no drive-thru and it's nothing like the main chains of fast food here. I guess Chipotle sorta could be more of a fast food.

There are a few on this list that we don't have in this area....from the traveling I have done I notice that some restaurants are regional rather than national and there are six on the list I haven't even heard of.
I don't really eat out as often as I used to a few years ago and have not eaten "fast food"..ie: Burgers, tacos, chicken in about six years.

I don't eat out often but when I do I love sushiyas, buffalo wing joints, or anywhere I can get a great salad. Now I'm hungry...

A few of those are American only.... I guess if I had to choose one of them, I'd choose Hard Rock Cafe.

Because of my food intolerance, all of the above are impossible for me. ;^^
What I can do, though, and enjoy, are crepe places. They generally use very few ingredients and what they do use is fresh, so I can order a tomato/basil/brie crepe and get something that I can safely eat. If they're more sauce-focused, I just switch everything over to creme fraiche and enjoy!

When we eat out, we always go to ethnic restaurants.

Half of those I've never even heard of. I like Golden Corral sometimes and I LOVED Red Robin's bacon and cheeseburger thing I had on V-day when my lovie took me out. It was the only time I've ate there and I still talk about that darn cheeseburger! I was talking about it the other night in Panama at Buffalo Wild Wings. First time eating there and I was not fond of it. I think Logan's Roadhouse is usually pretty good and Carraba's is almost always great! I like southern food. I've lived in the south my entire life so a buffet is usually my favorite. I love fried squash, fried Okra, mashed potatoes, green beans, fries and especially salad with every vegetable possible and tons of cheese! I don't like those fancy salads that come with lettuce and vinegar. I like everything, even raisins on mine. That's one of my fav foods.
Oh... and Famous Dave's is really good!

Gosh I love Crackerbarrel. So much food for about $10 a meal.
10/17/2011
I used to be a die-hard Cracker Barrel fan...and then their food went downhill and fast. Everything tastes very processed now, but when I was a kid it was all fresh because there weren't that many locations yet.
There's a local chain that we prefer to patronize, we were just there yesterday. They have great wings and burgers and a little bit of Mexican-American fare that is only so-so.
Waffle House will always be a staple. Can't beat those hashbrowns!

A lot of these are places in the States. I live in Canada. I like Red Robin and the Olive Garden. I love the Keg. Went there on my birthday. And swiss chalet is one of my faves too!

I love Red Lobster although the closest one is in Alberta that I know of.

We do not have hardly any of those listed. They are building an Olive Garden (the very first one in Alaska). We do have a Red Robin and a Chili's, though we don't eat there often. We prefer Ma and Pa type dives, over highly commercialized chains.
10/17/2011
Denny's is nice
10/17/2011
For my "favorite", I prefer a local non-chain restaurant.
10/17/2011
Olive Garden, and Hooters.
10/17/2011
Usually we got to dennys just because it is cheap!
10/17/2011
Denny's, IHOP, and Olive Garden. Denny's is the best because it's the most affordable. But IHOP runs some pretty good deals too. Olive Garden is expensive but lovely.

Our favorite is a local pizza place called Mama's pizza. Small, family run, but delicious. Moe's and Chick-Fil-A are some close contenders as well.

Some of those seem awfully pricey to be listed as casual. I voted for Applebees and Fridays. I'm always happy when I go to one of those.

Do you stand in line to order food or do you get seated and have someone take your order? Baja Fresh and Chipotle do the former so they're fast food. Chipotle's about as common as McDonalds around here.

The one here, you wait in a waiting area and someone seats you, but you can have the option to get the take-out at a little area in the back, but mostly people sit down in the dining room. They even hand out menus and take your order and bring your food to you and stuff. I've only been to the one, so I was unaware that most Baja Fresh's have everyone wait in line. There's only 1 here, that I'm aware of, for a good distance. There are two Chipotles in our area, I've been to one of them, and it reminds me of a Taco Bell in a way, because they have a drive up, and they have the area where you can order your food, but they have their dining area and once you order in line you take a number and have a seat (like at DQ) and they bring your food to you.

I really love cheesecake, so I chose the Cheesecake Factory! I find it to be pretty expensive though, so I don't eat there often.

Baja and Chipotle are casual dining here too, not fast food :/

I had to go with TGIFriday's, but I really like a lot of the places on the list. Red Robin and Hooters are regular places too.

Well, I live in a huge city, and based on miss KC's facebook she does too, I wonder if huge cities have one and smaller areas have another??? I want to put this to the test! That's a really good question as to who has which!

We like to eat out at two local vegan restaurants.

That's nice when I was vegan for years, they didn't have any specialty vegan restaurants here, so I'd have to go to another restaurant and just order vegan but I was always sooo paranoid that they weren't truly vegan...like maybe cooking in the same pan with grease or something. So I just didn't go out much!
