Has anyone ever been to these "Fantasy" parties? You know, the type that are like the Tupperware parties of old, but with sex toys and products? I have been to many and in fact, bought my first few sex toys from them. They are genrally held at a friend's home, where a presenter comes and shows products and has demonstrations.
They can be quite fun, if you have a good presenter and a good Hostess. My friends generally have cakes in the shapes of penis's and lots of naughty party favors. A few naughty games are played and then the presenter shows lots of toys and balms, etc. These toys are usually very cheaply made and horribly over priced. They never talk about lube compatibility or material safety. Also, they are usually catered to women. Honestly, they prey on the beginners who are shy and don't know anything about sex toys. I was one of them!
The first vibe I bought was a pink jelly vibe that cost almost $30. The next was a "fairy", also made of jelly, with rotating steel ball bearings and a rotating head. It had a fairy designed to stimulate your clit with a bullet inside. I spent $65 dollars on it! It broke after just a few uses. I was thoroughly disappointed. Not to mention the nasty bacterial infections I got. I even had a friend who spent around $100 bucks on a jelly vibe and have it "melt" because she just threw it in her drawer with all of her other jelly toys.
These experiences turned me off of sex toys for YEARS! It's really horrible. My friends have about a dozen of these a year, and I have had to stop going. The parties were fun, but it made me cringe when the presenters were so misinforming, knowing my friends would end up wasting money on the toys, despite my warnings.
After writing my review for the Harmonia recently, I started to think about how great it would have bee to have access to EF back then. I would have saved tons of time and money, not to mention the products I would have gotten would have been of better quality, because I could have read reviews and compared different materials and products. My point is, and there is one, I promise...
How would you feel about being able to host a party like this, but with EF products? Do you think it feasible for EF to have a program like this, to host parties to educate people and also to sell their products?
I would love to be able to have a coed party and talk about various products for men and women, material safety, lube compatibility, cleaning and storing of toys, and break down some of the stereo types that people have about sex toys, particularly for men. I'm thinking that if EF could get into this business, they would make a tons of money. It works almost like "Avon" reps. The presenters make a little profit, or at least get sex toys for free, and the Host of the party gets a free gift or a discount, depending on how much is sold at the party. I would love to do this, and have been thinking about having one anyway, just with the toys I have on hand. I plan on showing them EF, telling them about my experiences here, and going over all types of toys. I could even help them order the stuff they want, or at least show them how to do it by them selves, if they feel shy about it. I think it would be a great way to show my friends that they can get much better toys online than at these fantasy parties. I will also be educating them in safety, cleaning, storage, different materials, and different lubes.
