Ok, It's sad to say, but I am 30 years old and just truly worked out for the first time in my life a few days ago. I'm naturally small and never had the need to. However, I'm trying to tone myself and just be healthy. So I started kickboxing and yoga. I plan on doing kickboxing 3 days a week. My question is, is it ok to just do stretches on my off days. or will that not give my muscles enough rest? Suggestions please.

you should stretch every day before you start your activities. Stretching should not affect your "rest day" in between your work outs.

Stretching on your off day doesn't inhibit your muscles resting but increases flexibility, just don't over stretch or it could result in injury.

easy stretching on your off days is OK. full out yoga on your off days may be more than a person who hasn't exercised for 30 years can handle.

As long as you're not stretching to the point of pain or exhaustion, it should only have positive effects
