Is it just me or does there seem to be excess forum spam lately?

Contributor: K101 K101
For 2-3 days now I've been noticing many discussions with only one word and then a short question that's not much of a question (make sense?) and just today I've seen more than 6 of these all posted within minutes from each other and since the discussion ends as soon as it begind (meaning posters of the discussions aren't going back to them, but creating more) it seems super spammy. Maybe it's just me so I was wondering if I am the only one who's noticed? It just seems like A LOT of very typical questions that can be answered easily and they're all back to back.

So, is it just me?

Sorry Kendra, it's just you. I haven't seen anything that looked spammy.
I've noticed, I've noticed, I've noticed!

Yeah, I've noticed those posts also, it's been going on for a while now. I guess some people are trying to grab more Eden points before Black Friday?

I've noticed this a lot too. I'm not sure if it's spammy enough to flag the threads, but I am really starting to wish for an 'ignore' button that would allow me to ignore certain contributors that keep making these threads every day.

^THIS.

You know, I think if we did have this option the number of forum pages would reduce from over 600 to 150. Okay, maybe 200.

I have noticed this, but I also wasn't sure on whether to mark them as spam. Although something you can do if you don't want to flag a bunch of threads is to make a list of them and email them to Kristi. That way she can investigate and make the final call without having to involve flags on things you're not sure on. If it's something that makes you raise your eyebrow, it's always best to let somebody know.

I've noticed too but I think it's hard to tell whether or not they truly want an answer to their question or not. I have replied to a few of them, but for the most part, I just skip over them.

I noticed this, too. I also assume it's people wanting points before Black Friday.

Some of them I ignore. Some I answer in an attempt to make them more like a real forum post and less like spam.

I would adore an "ignore" button.

An "ignore" button would be great. It would probably make administrators' jobs easier too.

I've noticed those too. I try to just not respond to those post.

Yeah, I've noticed also. I've been unclear on whether or not to flag them too. It's very frustrating, but I assume they're just point farming. I'll sometimes reply, but I usually just skip them, because I figure why waste more forum space with a reply.

An ignore button would be fantastic for those kinds of posts!

I have noticed and only post answers if it could become a pertinent or interesting discussion. I try to salvage some interesting ones and feel others are just pointless.

I've noticed.
I'll see the same questions over and over again.

I've noticed it a bit, but I tend to just ignore them.

I've noticed, but there have been times that I don't have time to keep up a conversation. So I post my question, and come back to it when I have more time on here. It gives people time to answer too.

It's been happening a lot for awhile now.
Although, it doesn't bother me so much now cause I stopped coming into the forum so much.
By the time I do pass by, most of the spam ones have been pushed way back.

Ive noticed it too. Youll see the name of the person than 4 to 6 two or 3 word posts in a row. And most of them are really basic tv? movies? And theres a billion of the same questions asked all the time. It can be pretty annoying, I do agree an ignore button would be awesome. And its always people with no reviews or anything.

That's a good idea, though I'm not nearly organised enough to do it!

Personally, I just skip those, or just treat those posts the way the original poster did.

Wow, a couple of them figured out we were having double points. Look at all the new posts ...

I don't think it's any less of their right to spam the forums for points than it is anyone else's. I, for one, need more points so I can review more toys. I've used my toy this month and it was a complete dud and I've reviewed all the others I own. People spamming with things that don't belong in a particular forum or who just put polls up that aren't legit is one thing, but people gaining points and taking the time to create polls/discussions isn't anymore spam than this thread is.
