Yes, a couple of years ago we spent Thanksgiving with my mother-in-law. It was just me, my wife and my mother-in-law, so we had a pork loin instead of turkey just because it would have been overkill.

I just had my first Thanksgiving without turkey, because I went vegetarian back in the spring. We kept everything else, just ended up cooking some tofu to have with veggie gravy instead of the turkey.

We had chicken this year, we have had ham instead before. We've never thought we had to stick to turkey, but we always have dressing.

I did not have a whole Turkey but I had some Turkey wings and made those and a ham. Last minute planning since we did not go out to dinner like we were supposed too.
