Does your small puppy have seizures?

Contributor: DreamWolf DreamWolf
As I know overbreeding makes such things, and O/our lil one has them... Blissfully he has pills so he is a fine, healthy, happy mutt...

We lost our oldest Shi Tzu a couple months ago. Our 14 year old Shi Tzu was run over by a car about 9 years ago and has seizures frequently now. Our little Pom will have mini seizures when she gets too chunky, but that is our fault due to her weight...not overbreeding.

I don't have a puppy. Sounds sad. Glad he has pills though.

It's also common in small dogs from glycemic issues, since they are so small their blood sugars can plummet if they don't eat little bits often enough.

My small dog does not have seizures, thankfully!

This is exactly what happened with my mother's dog when we first got her. She had the glycemic issue because she was weaned too early (the breeders lied about her age by three weeks ... I understood they got shut down a few months later).

='< Poor little guy, I hope he'll be alright in the long run with the pills.
Our small breed dog doesn't have any health problems so far, we're hoping it stays that way.

We used to have an older dog that had one or two seizures, but she was 10 or 11 when they happened, so not a puppy.

I had a Pom. He had seizures (Epilipsy). It eventually caused his Trachea (spelled wrong...it was his airway) to collapse. He passed away 2 years ago May 19th. Of course the Vet didnt find his condition until it had already caused too much damage.

If your baby has seizures, please make sure you give the meds!! It will save their life!
